Everyone Okay on the East Coast? I was out pulling weeds and never felt anything, but my Mom, who lives with us said her bed shook.

I'm wondering how the people from around Richmond are...since all they're talking about on TV is DC and NY and it appears that all is pretty much fine there. No injuries reported yet.

Heather Semko is from that area (Richmond, VA), so I hope she checks in.

Here in Newf Hampshire, I never felt a thing. Had a friend call me and ask if I was okay. I had no idea what she was referring to.

Seems to be some damage, not major. But so far thankfully, no injuries or deaths!

House shook very badly here and it sounded like a jet engine was going to land on the house. Having lived in SoCal for 20 years before coming to VA, I knew it must be and earthquake, but... All ok here so far. Still checking on the pool and water pipes and gas lines.

I did feel it here. I was sitting at the computer and Georgie was laying under the desk, as usual. I felt the movement and moved my chair back thinking Georgie was trying to get out or the chair was too close to her. I moved the chair back, but the chair was still shaking and I realized Georgie was not even near the chair! A few minutes later it was on the news. Town Hall in my town was evacuated too. Now that that is over, I am worried about the hurricane the might be coming this weekend.

We felt it here in NJ. I thought Guinness was leaning and pushing my chair and then I realized he was laying perfectly still. Certainly a freaky feeling for this Jersey girl. GAD actually felt it in Raleigh, NC.

We are fine here. It just felt like the washer was off balance. Glad I was telecommuting today. I heard our office building was really creepy when it swayed. Laurel (BoundlessNewfs) was on FB and seems to be OK too.

People in New York City mostly felt it in tall buildings and in Brooklyn. I didn't notice much. I was at the vet with Koda. Everything in the city seems okay.

We live about 39 miles from the epicenter, which is Mineral, VA.

Wow. Hubby likened it to an off-balance spin cycle with a load of towels. You know, when your washer shakes so hard you can feel it in another room....only our whole house was on spin cycle. Everything was shaking, vibrating, and rumbling. It was so LOUD. Really frightening. Lasted about a minute.

We had an aftershock around 8 this evening, which was much milder, but still lasted about 15-20 seconds and was quite a rumble.

I work in the seaport area of Boston in a converted mill. The building shook, lights were swinging, it was a very off balance feeling. Not enough force to knock anything over even, just a little unsettling.

Thanks Donna, we're all fine. I was driving to the dentist and didn't feel a thing. When I got there it was total chaos.

At 8:04pm I was washing clothes and my husband says what is that noise and shaking. I said it was the wash machine but apparently it was an after shock.

When I cam home I asked Tess and Rooney what happened and neither one answered. I noticed that things had fallen off of shelves but that's about it.

I felt it up here in Ohio, and my sister down in Raleigh NC felt it too. At first I didn't know what was and just thought I was dizzy! Now I'm just so relieved that something strong enough to be felt so far away didn't cause that much harm. I haven't heard of anyone who was seriously hurt.

I was in the basement on the computer and didn't feel anything, but it sounded like someone was dragging a chair across the kitchen floor. Then I realized the sound wasn't coming from upstairs.

Here in CT I am not used to earthquakes so when my office chair was moving, I automatically figured it was Phineas. I looked down and he wasn't even touching my chair, but that still didn't register in my mind, figured he moved his feet. Didn't realize what it was until my friend told me we had an earthquake!!

WAs sitting at the table and felt the floor shaking. Almost felt like it was literally shifting. The table was also shaking. My niece and nephew were at the beach and said they literally felt the sand shifting.
