Earthquake

Now I'm just so relieved that something strong enough to be felt so far away didn't cause that much harm. I haven't heard of anyone who was seriously hurt.
I was reading online, that the reason it was felt so far away was because the earth in that area is harder rock. In CA, there are so many fault lines and "squishier" earth that it would not have been felt at such great distances from the epicenter. I just thought that was interesting.

I find this to be interesting too.

I'm amazed at the absence of damage compared to the widespread reports of people feeling this one. I didn't feel anything but others here in SW Michigan did. So glad everyone is OK.

I have to say I am LOL at the number of NNers who just assumed at first the shaking was due to something their dogs were doing... (rofl)

Just read there was a 7. something earthquake in Peru.

I certainly am no geologist, but I gotta wonder if some of these major major quakes, i.e. Haiti and Japan at 9.0/+ move and juggle other plates in the world?
