Aside from any and all water activities and carting.

Sleeping
Drooling
Shedding
Pretending to guard things
Kisses
Cuddling
Looking pathetic when food is present (acting... Genius!)

Therapy dog. Kimber was a great therapy dog. They have a kind attitude that makes them really work well.

Well, he likes balls. Let me rephrase that. He adores balls. And has this weird way of tossing them up and mouthing them. As you can see in my icon. Reminds me of one of those cranes swallowing fish.

It depends the dog. Each one I have come across seems to prefer one over the other but will work multiple venues.

Obedience/ agility

Mine love all of these and socializing, socializing and more socializing.
Katy just loves to carry thing for us. My purse, a towel and small bits of firewood
I am also teaching her to help putting the chickens and ducks away.I think that newfs just love to be involved in everyday things, whatever it is. As long as it involves people interaction

Thule's Mom

Thule's not a therapy dog, but there are small two children with autism on our street... she' brings out the best in those two kids. They get so excited to see her and the chat up a storm. It's beautiful. Their Mom wants Thule to come for a play date when snow comes, to play with them in their back yard.

It's a beautiful thing to see!

The reason I ask, is our dogs are not just pets, and all have been involved in activities. Telah, who has passed on the the Rainbow Bridge, was an SAR dog. She was a Shiloh Shepherd. Max, a black and tan GSD, who has also passed, was in Flyball. Nemo and Petra, both Czech GSD's are Schutzhund dogs. Coco, our 4 year old is TDI certified and has had some herding training and Raven, our 2 year old Lab is training for Therapy Dog. Both have their CGC's. We DO things with our dogs. I wanted to get Boog into something he is suited for, some activity we can do together or that he can do with the other dogs as well.

And it is very important for those kids, so stick with it. Their Mom is right to not pass on such a great opportunity. Annabelle and Tessa both love the kids at the special School they go to. And some of the kids have changed a lot. Some are even talking. And one loves to stroke Tessa, when never before he showed any form of caring for anyone or anything. Dogs have a way with those kids. It is a proven fact and it is very special
