Abused GSD

This is the group I have volunteered with for the past 15 years. WWW.gsroc.org. They are an amazing organization. We recently got in an extremely abused and starved 3 year old GSD that weighed 37 pounds. They found the scumbag that did this and it turns out she was a vet tech at the place I had Murphy doing his water therapy. How psycho do you have to be to work as a vet tech and try to starve your dog to death? It turns out this was intentional. The new story is her parents did not want the dog and she decided to starve it to death. Are people really this crazy?

Follow the link and you can read Courage's story.

How can anyone do that to a dog? I think she should be chained, starved and left to eat dirt and rocks.

Please keep us informed on the progress of Courage. He is one amazing dog. You can see the love in his eyes.

OMG.....disgusting human being, if you can even call her that.
Courage...I'm glad you fought to survive so you will know what it's like to be loved...

This is so very sad. I have seen Dobermans come into my local Dobe rescue that look like that and worse, they don't all make it either. I had two GSD's as a kid, they were both wonderful dogs-it just breaks my heart to see this. Courage - what a fitting name.

Are people really this crazy?
Yes people are really that crazy. :icon_stupid:

Wow, that brought tears to my eyes! That poor baby! He has such spirit though. After all he's been through, he is such a fighter.

I watched the video and then further down the page is a box with pictures. There's a cute one of him rolled over on his back for a belly rub from the vet!

Prayers coming for sweet Courage. Keep on fighting boy!

What is wrong with some people? She's a vet tech-and starving him is the way to go? He would have been better off in the pound. People like that should be barred from owning animals ever again, and I certainly wouldn't want her around my child.

OMG............But look at courage's smily face.......She looks happy, not sad. She will make someone a loved companion. I just don't understand the combination of vet tech and someone who starves a dog.
Go Courage, I will keep a lookout on more updates, I love her face

Geesh... Unbelievable! It just makes me want to cry. I seriously hope they throw the book at this woman. There is just no excuse for this.

I just went back and watched the video...the woman who brought him in didn't want to name his abuser? Odd how that $1000 reward brought out the assistance they needed to find her.

Vet tech - not in my books! Psychotic Beeotch is more like it! Sad memories of Babe (May) when she came into rescue and the dirtbag vet tech who let her go untreated with a large stick (dang near 2 feet long) imbedded into her chest cavity. May is doing wonderful with her forever home. Looks like Courage is in a great place now and I have no doubt will be in a forever home very soon. That vet tech should be reported to law enforcement and to the licensing board - she should be stripped of her certification/license and never allowed to be near any kind of animal. Jail time is appropriate IMO.

Jail time is NOT enough. I'm with Jeannie. When it comes to animal abuse they should get back whatever they gave out, doubled.
