A few of my Favorite Things...

I am wondering what are your favorite dog items? What are the top 5 things you can't live without or you love? Like a dryer, favorite shampoo, special toys. Just thought it would be fun to see a few of our favorite things!

I'm just gonna be silly and say my dogs period. They are my most favorite thing and feel like I can't live without them. But I really like my Mack (sorry I'm thinking trucks this morning I meant Mars) Coat King for Zeke, that has made life a bit simpler.

The Neater Feeder is my #1 recommendation!
http://www.neaterfeeder.com/

A close 2nd would be the SENSE-ation No-Pull Harness.

Anything made by Hugglehounds, but especially their Knottie stuffies.

Any of the toys from West Paw Designs' Zogoflex collection. Pure genius.

And anything from Nylabone's Dura Chew product line!

A sense of humor and a lot of patience! Sorry, couldn't resist! :whistling:
OK, I know it's early in this thread, but I'd say this is the best answer. LOL

As far as functional items, I know that my crates, baby gates and portable steps have had a LOT of use, and the grooming table and dryer were a great addition when Piper came along.

But I think I will cherish Hugo's yellow bumper most of all. It's dirty, smashed, ragged on the ends, and full of wonderful memories.

Towels! Miracle Coat Groom Spray, rake, Cubby's toy flea and toy lamby... and there is still a splat of fluger on the dining room ceiling from Hamilton Bear that has since dried. I haven't had the heart to clean it off yet. He passed away last December and when I look up and see the mark, it makes remember my big goofy boy. Maybe I'll clean it in the new year...just not ready yet...

Crate. Rain suit/rain boots (for us, not him). Peanut butter filled kong. Mars coat king. Magic erasers.

I like patience and humor, and I have to add wine!!

Shop Vac
Rug Doctor Steam Cleaner
Bissell Spot Bot
Steam Mop
Pressure washer
(are you sensing a direction here....)

Our 'weed and feed' water hose attachment
(makes bath time sooooooooooo much easier when you have the shampoo mixed right in with the hose water)

6 cup glass pyrex food storage boxes
(the ONLY way to fit 2 weeks worth of dog meals in the freezer at one time!)

and our beloved Jolly Ball
(we're on #2 now - its worn out but he won't give it up, we keep a spare on hand close for the day when it too goes - losing the first one damned near broke my Buddy's heart)

We haven't accumulated a lot of stuff yet, but our best toy purchase was the Bumi toy:
http://www.westpawdesign.com/catalog/dogs/dog-toys/eco-friendly-dog-toys/eco-friendly-products/bumi

It's a great product (with free replacement if it gets destroyed), it floats, and Gilly LOVES it. Sometimes she wants us to play and sometimes she'll just chew on it for an hour.

I love my human-sized microfiber towel for drying her, and our beautiful leash mostly for aesthetics, but it's a realllly sturdy leash with some neat features...and made in America for those who are into that:

(we've got the adjustable, hand-spliced, brass one)

The gate that goes over the entrance to the cargo area on my Volvo wagon. I'm not talking about one of those things that go between the cargo area and passenger compartment. This is actually a set of 2 doors that goes over the back of the hatch opening.

That way, I can leave the back hatch of my station wagon open while keeping my dog in the car.

I'm going to do this different than most (but I march to a different drummer anyway). Here are mine:

#1 - My 1800's carving done for Sir Edward Landseer's Original Painting

#2 - My Harris 1902 Newf and Cart

#3 - My 1800's Engraving from Thomas Landseer it got at the 2008 Warwick, RI National Fine Arts Auction looks almost identical to Ricky.

#4 - My 1851 Landseer Newf Oil - Incribed on the back from Grandma to a granndson, dated 1851.

#5 - A 1900's book plate in color perfect condition from a Childrens book.

These and my 496 other pieces from my post and trade cards, to my statues, and oils and prints, etc. are hard to choose from.

I'm obsessed with this. I need to find a "newf antique" in a big way.

I think my number 1 thing would have to be our Martingale Collars. I cant tell you how many times my guys put on the breaks and slipped their collars! Typically in the street...

Followed by a close second would have to be the Kong and kong puzzle. I can keep em busy for hours with some creative stuffing!

Of course I love my car and ramp as well!

Doggy day care! I wish we could afford to send them more often, but couldn't live without it!

Also the camera. Don't know what I'd do if I couldn't take a trillion pictures of my lover-bears all the time.
