A few of my Favorite Things...

1) Washer and dryer...lived in my house for almost a year without one...just
went to the laundromat...it was fun. Within 2-3 weeks of having a
newf, my brother bought and installed my washer and dryer at my
insistence! :D
2) Lots...and lots...of towels
3) Undercoat rake and Ice on Ice (Ok, so that's 2, but they go together
:whistling:)
4) Baby gates-funny 'cus he could knock 'em down, but he doesn't.
5) Rugs/runners for the front and back doors...muddy newfs are the
worst! I would LOVE to have a mud room.

And I also have to mention the bumper. It's what Sam and I do...our favorite "us" time. My camera is also crucial...I had a number of pets before I had a camera like this, and I wish I had the quality of photos that I have of Sam of them. And, although it is not a possession, per se, I love the dog park. I have enjoyed Sam more than any other dog I have owned, and the dog park is a big factor...he can run free, I get to see him play with other dogs and interact with dog owners...it is so much better than neighborhood strolling, and unlike others on here, I have had very few negative experiences despite the frequency with which we go. Plus, it is where the water is...no off-leash park, no water.

NN............

I often wonder if i would have gotten another newfie after Abbey if i hadn't read so many good and happy stories about healthy older newfies and so much support after some of my good friends passed.

Also some of you ( you know who you are) who helped me get past Annabelle's terror.
Also again I might have given up on her. And that would have been the saddest loss of all.....So to me NN.

I am on a few other dog forums occasionally and none are so supportive, in sickness and health, I know there have been squabbles and sometimes I have wanted to hide, but overall it is what kept me going with newfies :) Ronnie

Since Bringing Opie home (my first newf) I had been waiting so long I already had all my supplies in place lol.
1. k9 111
2. Booster Bath
3. Grooming Table
4. grooming tool bag
5. bare sub floors since I ripped out the carpet! (flooring is last as we do renos.)

I would say baby gates BUT Opie blasted right through the middle of it and broke it into pieces and the other one we had she ripped the housing out of the wall, anchors and all! lol

I've had Newfs for over 30 years. About 8 years ago, I found this supplement called Longevity by Springtime. This green powdery stuff is expensive, but worth it's weight in gold. I love what it does. My current Newf has, hands down, the silkiest and sweetest non-matting coat I've ever seen. I frequently hear comments from dog folks saying he is the best looking Newf they've ever encountered. Granted, he does get brushed out weekly by me, but honestly, I swear by this stuff. His coat glistens and as he is used in therapy programs, I am so thankful he appears so clean, even though he usually only gets about 3 baths a year!!

My favorite dog items:
1) My first newf, Jager: because he's helped us raise Bear
2) Wipe rags at every corner of every room
3) Rope toys (they love to play tug--o-war)
4) Our SUV's: otherwise we couldn't travel with 2 newfs, a lab and a wiener dog
5) The Dyson Animal
