I keep finding new state parks in our area...so far Ive found over 20,000 acres within 30 minutes of us, but I rarely see dogs there even though the state laws and statutes allow dogs for walks or hunting/service training. Is there a reason any of you particularly like or dislike state parks?

As some of you know, due flooding from a leaky water pipe we are redoing what will be the Newf holding area after coming inside when dirty, wet, as well as the feeding room, etc. Also, the room used to keep the Newf when we leave the house during the period in which he is old enough not to be...

Well our future dog room got flooded and the carpeting is getting ripped up. Its concrete underneath and insurance will cover the cost of the carpet and the walls, etc. I definitely do not want to put carpet down again, I want something that is dog nail resistant and also relatively slip...

My wife wants me to get a license plate that says GOT NEWF, if its available...but I feel like its going to jinx me if I get the plate before getting the dog. I know it sounds stupid...but its worrying me... :icon_stupid:

Why isnt there a certification that dogs can get so that they are allowed into stores!?! I mean if crappy parents can take their loud mouthed bratty little kids, why on earth couldnt I take a well behaved dog!?!? Is it just me??? If I'd have to leave a dog at home, how come the kids aren't...

Ok, knowing (hoping) that I'll be getting a Newf this year (2009) and that we have 6 cats and christmas is right around the corner, Im trying to figure out what (if any) cat toys would be puppy / dog safe. I figure anything small enough to be swallowed is out, which is pretty much every cat toy...

It seems like everyone is getting one. Should this just be a planned expense, because I think I have lost count of the Newfs in the last few months that have had this happen. Its seems like the cruciate threads are as numerous as the spay/neuter threads :mad:

Does anyone have any experience with GPS dog collars? I think I will be getting these for any dogs we get...it just makes to much sense. Fences are great and the first line of defense, but it seems like GPS would be a really nice backup.
