You guys have been on my mind, glad for the update! Don't forget about the satin balls for the weight gain! Making a good bone broth can also be helpful and if you freeze some it could be a lovely (not so calorie loaded) treat for Raven. Keeping you guys in my thoughts and prayer!

Thanks for checking in on him. It really does help. We made the satin ball recipe for him and originally he would eat it but then decided no way. I will check out the crock pot recipes for sure. Today was dose # 3. No IV needed today as this was in tablet form. Also given with lasix so the med doesn't sit in the bladder and cause damage. He is already peeing and drinking a lot from the pred they have him on so this ought to be interesting. I have an alarm set to take him out every 2 hrs during day and every 3 for tonight. He gained a little over a pound and a half since last week so that is good. I took him to McD's after the treatment for his 2 cheeseburgers (plain) which he scarved down. Thanks again. :)

BTW I have cooked the satin balls for dogs who will not eat them raw. Put the mixture in a 9x13 pan and bake

Great idea to try to cook the satin ball mixture. I have a huge amount in the freezer just taking up space. Don't know why I didn't think of that! Thanks. :)

Catching up...glad to hear Rocky is doing better. So sorry about the diagnosis.
You might want to try mixing some raw tripe into his food. I've recently started giving it to mine, and they LOVE it! Nolan got really sick at our National and refused anything and everything offered him. A friend gave him some tripe and he ate it! Stuff smells, but is packed with probiotics and enzymes. Thinking only good thoughts for Rocky.:hugs:

So sorry to hear it. Is low dose naltrexone an option? Many people with cancer take it. It boosts the immune system. Pretty sure there is info for dogs and pets too. Same with micronized purple rice but that is way over on the alternative side.

Hmmm, not sure about the naltrexone but I will look into it. Also looking into the raw (stinky!) tripe. Rocky's weight gain has been really good. He gained 5 lbs last week! The oncologists said he is responding well to the treatment and his lymph nodes have reduced to almost normal size. The last treatment was the strongest yet and the protocol requires an EKG before administering and his heart is strong and normal. He gets a week off before round 2. So far so good. It is amazing to have him back because he was so close to dying and we are just enjoying every day with him. He is getting stronger every day. :)
