Keep in touch, please!

Oh we will. Things are really starting to get busy in our house these days though. Packers come in a week and a half and the truck is being shipped next Friday. So we have been extra busy cleaning out 8 years of stuff. We are trying to minimize our weight so that we don't exceed the amount they allow us. It's hard when you have 9 people in the house. That is a lot of furniture.

Maybe you need to get to know some loadmasters, with the C-5's. When I worked as a civilian Air Traffic Control Maintenance supervisor at westover ARB, Ma. The reservesist always brought things back from Spain or Germany. As I bet lots of things make it back from the sand box.

Thank you for your service, I did 30 years as Civilian for Air Force Reserves before that 3 yrs at Larado AFB before it closed. Most houses at Laughlin AFB should have AC, gets hot but less humity

Forgot to ask Are you A Weather forcaster ? What is your job in Air force ?

I'm an Air Traffic Controller.

One more day and then the house will be empty for about a month. Yuck! Well I guess there is a positive in that, less to clean and more time for the 2 T's!! :D

I really have to find a new spot for some last memories in Germany. I've had my eye on a beautiful lake just North of us. The kids have been dying to go because of the heat. I think I have next weekend planned. :new_smilie_colors1:

Just a heads up. The airline is requiring a custom large crate and the amount needed has gone up. Here's the link again with details Go Fund Me page http://www.gofundme.com/3nyg2g

Just wanted to check in with everyone. We have packed up the house and only have a very small shipment left, that will be picked up on 16 Sept. We took Typhoon and his kennel to Frankfurt yesterday and they said the Giant Kennel (700 series) would not work for him. So we have to get a custom crate built for him to travel. Tsunami will most likely need one as well. We didn't take him to the airport but I did send pictures and the shipping company was not certain that his would work either. So bottom line, the airfreight cost and the price for the crate increased the total cost by at least $1000. (Only if Tsunami doesn't need a crate too) I put an update on the above link detailing everything.

Please just share the post and believe with us that this too will be covered. Thank you all for your continued best wishes.

On a brighter note, we might have housing in Texas lined up! It will be a tight squeeze with the entire family, but it is something positive in this move.

One more thing to add, does anyone have any ideas on how to transport two of these kennels from Atlanta to South Carolina? My MIL will be picking T & T up in Atlanta but she was counting on the crates being able to come apart. The custom wooden crates don't come apart with out unscrewing or taking nails out. I would love to keep these kennels, especially with the cost associated with them. Does anyone know if the arrival point will allow the crates to be stored for approximately a week. I will be picking up my truck in Charleston, SC on 25 Sep. If so, I can drive down there and pick them up with the truck. Just throwing this out there for your ideas.

Thanks so much,

Eric
