There Are No Ordinary Dogs

So very well said, Susan. My Caera was destined for the show ring, but a car accident changed all that so I guess the show ring wasn't her destiny after all. I guess some people would say "what a shame". Perhaps her destiny was to teach me many things including what it means to love unconditionally the way only she could and how to open my heart to include Miss Kitty to our family, then Misha and now Mr. Murphy, each of them extraordinary in their own way. I love them all and you put the words to the way I feel about my fur-gang. Thank you for that.

That was a great article and a great reminder for all of us that each of our dogs is very special and we don't have to look very hard to see it. I have learned so much from each and every dog I have had the privilege of sharing my life with.

And are my eyes deceiving me? Up at the top of the page in the slide show header. Is the border collie on the left (in the snow pic) wearing shades and smoking a cigarette? :icon_cool: :bandit:

we know this every day, Jessie came into our lives and though it wasn't fun dealing with a sick dog and the arrival of eight puppies she gave me my golden boy Merlin and a lot of other people (one who'd lost their son) the healing they needed through having a puppy. She has taught us the value of patience as though she may never walk well on a lead to see how far she has come is truly humbling.

Beau was a manky mutt when we got him took us a long haul through health and training issues. He qualified for Crufts and though he didn't win anything the joy he gave to many walking around the show was awesome and the severly disabled lady in a wheelchair was given very special treatment by him as he made sure that even though she couldn't move his head was gently manouvered under her hand . The joy on her face was priceless.

Each of our dogs comes to us because we need something they can give us and we always try to repay that devotion with the best we can give them
