The Art of Racing in the Rain

Not quite the level of Merle's Door or even Marley and Me writing wise but a good summer read. Raises some interesting questions about dogs innate abilities to recognize disease and understand their humans. Some perhaps a little far fetched for most of us, although most of us probably know people who say at least party in jest, "I want to come back as your dog".

I had a very, very bright but very troubled young man for a student who introduced me to this book. This book was very therapeutic for him, and I do want to read it. He couldn't stop talking about how much he liked it and it must be good, because he was very smart and sensitive. . . just troubled.

This amazing book punched all of my buttons...I'm a dog-lover, father, husband and racer!

One of the best written books I've read in quite a while. It is definitely worth checking out. You will not put it down.

I brought this book to Greece with me, but didn't have the heart to read it while I was away from my Bojie monster, can you believe it! So, now that I'm back home with him, I'm going to open it up and start.

If this is a sad book, then somebody please tell me before I order it!! I'm not into sad right now. Mind you, if it keeps on raining...

Dogs don't live as long as we do, so in that sense yes, but not like Marley and Me or Merle's door where I cried so hard at the end I had a headached for 2 days.

I didn't think it was sad, once you accept the fact that dogs don't live forever. It can't be helped.

I just finished this book. A delightful read & would recommend it to anyone. Sad yes, but in a happy way. I don't usually keep books after I read them, but I'm keeping this one. Loved it.

This book was recently recommended to me and I am looking forward to reading it! Interestingly enough, it was recommended to me by a woman that is not really a dog person, but thought I would enjoy it when she saw my newf stickers on my car.
