Speaking of Cissy's ornaments...

I have my ornaments hanging up all year. I do not put them away. However, where I have them, you really can't see them all that well.

Does anyone have any ideas as to where I could hang them in full view and very visible?

I realize no one knows what my house looks like, and I really don't have any wall space downstairs where I would like to hang them.

My niece has this stick tree that she keeps up all year round, it has evergreen branches, and she has white lights on the tree with nic/nac sort of things hanging on it.

How about hanging on a thread in front of a window, like if I had a kitchen sink with a window (which I don't) or if you have ceiling fans you could use them as the pull cords/depending on the ornaments. Also between my den and dining room I have a main dark wooden beam that I could hang stuff from, I'll see if I can find a picture...I usually hang some stars I bought from them. Just some thoughts....

Thanks folks! But, I have ALL of Cissy's ornaments, and I really don't want to split them up.

As an aside, it is such a beautiful set. I really treasure them!

If I had them all, i would pick one window and hang them at different heights/levels and balance them out........Mind you I have about 60' of window at the front of our house.

Thanks Ronnie!

I do have one area in the kitchen, which is where I spend most of my time.

I have an alcove window and closer to me in the kitchen is a piece of wood which is probably about 8 feet long, just in front of the window. I probably could put nails on the inside (so they are not exposed and would still have more room for later years.

Please keep the suggestions coming, I appreciate them!

Thank you!

How about a lighted shadow box. Ornaments can be mounted using Velcro, so you can arrange them as you add to them.

once upon a time, my dad made my great-grandparents a 'family tree'...he made it out of 'fake tree' bits and we hung small, framed family photos of all of their kids, grandkids, and great grandkids...it eventually expanded to include great-great grandkids. We had it at my their funerals and it was shocking to their pastor to see just how freaking massive our family was. This thing was huge and sat in a fake pot with foam and fake moss. We made it so they could have a way to take all the family photos into the nursing home since they couldn't hang them on the walls.

Perhaps something along those lines would work to hang your ornaments? we wrapped the tree bits together with wire and then covered it stuff that looked a bit like moss...it was pretty cool looking by the time the family was done with it.

I agree with Ted about a shadow box - with a black background. Always have intended to do that after getting the NEWF series, but... Altho' my crafty sister tells me Michael's craft stores sell shadow boxes. By the time I get around to it, I'll need several! :D
