I am so sad to see so many recent losses.
Adam, Sam, Ben, Gitche and Bartlett all within a week.
I pass on my sincere condolences to all of you and so understand you pain.
The loss of these special dogs leaves a huge hole in you life and your heart and I feel for each and everyone of you.

I think this is the worst week in NN's history, so many of our special guys gone. My heart goes out to you all.

So many loses but look at their ages. I do not thinks person would hear of so many elders that long ago. Guess like humans changes in medicine, diet, and care have allowed for longevity.

It is so very sad...no matter the age...it is never long enough...big hugs to those who have lost their loves this week...

Yes, it has bothered me, plus the Tigger who we kept when needed the last couple of years who left us at 11 and a half back in June. I too have been telling Mom and a few the sudden loss of Newf.net dogs. I have to admit, it bothers me more and more Snuffles' time is short just based on 11 years 4 months.

It's just a scary reality shock for me. These dogs were all here when we joined and I learned so much from them. Elvis is now 7.5 and one of the "older middle age" guys on here........and it hurts my heart a bit. We had a scare with his heart last week (he's okay) but his mortality is punching us in the face and I'm just nowhere near ready to accept it. It does help that these dogs were older and hopefully we've got several more years with Elvis.....but nothing is guaranteed. It's definitely been a sad week around here.

I figured the ages of the newfs that have been lost this past week.

Adam was 12 years 5 months 3 weeks and 6 days
Bartlett was 11 years 8 months and 2 days
Sam was 11 1/2 years (no exact dates given)
Ben was 10 years (no exact dates given)
Gitche 9 years 2 weeks and 3 days.

Our newfs may be living longer but it is still not long enough!

Its interesting that you started this thread. My Candyman's dad, (kennel name) Meant to Be (Toby), died just this past Friday. He was about a month from being 12.

It is just never long enough...my boy was just 2 months shy of 13 when he passed and I wish every day that he was still here...I miss him so much...and no matter how many years we have with them...it goes by way too fast...big hugs everyone...and to those of us who still have our babies...give them an extra treat today...

Very sad week. I've been afraid to log on. It is so heartbreaking. We need a rainbow bridge section for these beautiful memorial posts, no?
