Pat,
Congrats on the new addition! That was pretty smart putting him in the crate right away. My advice would be to keep him there til he's 18 or so, your life will be much easier. It was a thoughtful gesture on your part to let the Newf pup in there to keep him company! How's the housebreaking coming along?

Rick, funny you should ask about housetraining, Gabby is totally untrustworthy. It's only been 1 week since we brought her home, and I'm not really expecting much in this short amount of time. She is doing very well with her crate. This is the 1st time we've ever used a crate at night or while we're away, we usually use the master bathroom, but that is Penny's place to sleep, so we couldn't invade her space.
If I had only known about crates when our son was growing up it would have made things much easier (that's our grandson Tanner in the picture with Gabby), I'll pass your suggestion on to my daughter.
Thanks everyone, Gabby is just a sweetie. I think that Penny gave her the heads up about digging tonight, she came in with a brown nose, welcome to the wonderful world of Newfies!!!
