I have no affiliation with this company other than being someone who is completely happy with their products:nod:

Daria will be 9 in June and a couple months ago I noticed her slowing down considerably. Poor gal was looking pretty old, tired and haggard. And she was having trouble getting around. She's been on Joint Strong for many years but that didn't seem to be doing the trick any longer. I decided to check Young At Heart from the same company. GREAT STUFF!! Within days Daria had that naughty sparkle back in her eye and a bounce in her step. Every morning she greats me all bouncy bouncy (front feet off the floor, dancing all over the kitchen) and licks my hand and steers me to the pantry where I keep her "crack":D The change in her has been remarkable. OK, at some point I may regret this........:whistling::!rolling:but it truly is wonderful seeing my little mischief maker feeling so much better.

Maia's been slowing down just a touch, too. She has always been the most agile dog I've ever had. Signed her up for Young At Heart as well and she's doing beautifully on it.

I put Faith on it as well. Her pyo last year really took the wind out of her sails and she started to slow down a bit (and get bitchy!) so I started giving this to her just recently. This morning I looked out the kitchen window and there she is running around in the snow playing with puppy Callie. It's been YEARS since she's played with a puppy! She was having a grand ol time and was happy happy. She just feels good these days! So good to see.

Everyone who is taking this stuff feels great, healthy, happy and dare I say, younger. I am extremely happy with this product. I know it's pretty pricey but is there really a price tag for our dog's health, happiness and soundness?

Hey! Interesting that the third ingredient is 'Total milk protein'!!!! Thats what Microlactin/Duralactin is. :)

I'm glad your girls are doing so well on it! I might have to try it on my old gent!

I recently tried Microlactin on Hugo and he got the worst diarrhea I've ever seen in a dog. I had to hoist him in the bathtub three to four times a day for two days, which wasn't easy due to his mobility issues. I was bummed because I really wanted to find something that would help him. Anyone know of any supplements that don't contain milk products?

Mary, do you know approx how many scoops per pound you get?

Never mind. I found it. Just had to put my reading glasses on.

Mary K., how much do you put in their food every day and is it once a day or once per meal. Gracie too, who will soon be 10 has been looking old and worn out lately. I'm definitely going to give it a try.Anne

DUH! Never mind. I too didn't scroll to the bottom of the page. :whistling: Thanks so much for the tip.

Jane, I had the same result with LuLu when I first started her on miralactin because, of course, I followed the directions to give a loading (double) dose for the first 14 days. I treated the diarrhea with immodium, pumpkin and oatmeal, withheld the dose for two days and restarted on 1/2 of the recommended maintenance dose for a week then increased to a full dose over the course of a week. No blow-outs with that regime and I think she's much more comfortable. I suspect there may be some element of lactose intolerance with some dogs. She doesn't tolerate more than a tablespoon of yogurt or cottage cheese without getting pudding poops.

Totally. People laugh when I tell them Sophie is lactose intolerant, cause they've never heard of it in dogs. But she definitely is. No yogurt or cottage cheese for my girl.

Jane, so sorry to hear of the problems you had with Hugo:darn:

Just a note, I started off slowly with this. 1 scoop for a week or so. Daria and Maia are now getting 2 scoops in the morning and Faith is getting 1. The recommended dosage is 3 scoops a day but right now my girls are doing well with the dosage I'm giving them. I can always increase if need be.

My Costco size tub of Young At Heart arrived yesterday...:!rolling:Figure since I have 3 girls on it I might as well order the jumbo size..30#. I ran out and the girls went about 4 days without their supplement. I could see a difference in Faith. Daria was slowing down and creaking a bit too. They got their first dose of the new stuff yesterday and I saw an immediate improvement.

If any of you do decide to order the 30# container, do so well before you run out. K9Power.com doesn't keep that on hand so it comes from the manufacturer in California. It took about a week and a half to arrive in Vermont.

Interesting search for something to help me cut down on all the supplements I give (dausaquin, miralactin, probiotic, salmon oil and cranberry for Lu who has chronic relapsing UTI's) turned up K9 Show-stopper plus Joint. My 'kids' are all under 7 (the Newfs are 5) but nice to know I can bump up i the same product line if I need to later.

I can't imagine 30#. I have the 15# bags here of SuperFuel/ShowStopper. I just re-ordered Young at Heart and Joint Strong in bigger size. My senior is doing really good on the combo.

FYI, Mary K. I've had Gracie on this for 3 weeks now and she really seems to be feeling more chipper these days! Thanks for the tip! Anne

I used Young At Heart for awhile but Brooke turned into a chub. Gained way too much weight when added it in and could not get it off dropping food back. I ended up changing her over to Tricox which she is doing well on and she is slowly dropping back to what her weight should be.
