Prayers for my Samantha

Oh Jeannie, I'm so sorry to read this. This heat is hard on these old guys. I hope the Previcox helps get her some relief. You may not want to increase the Duralactin unless you were under dosing. I don't think more is necessarily better with it. I'd also talk to my Vet about the increase you noticed in her ankles as it may be fluid build up, not necessarily arthritis. A heart med and lasix could help if thats the case. Which would in turn help her mobility in general as well. I know Lu would not be here if she was not on these meds. They really made a difference for her.

Fingers crossed she feels better soon.

I'm praying for the very best possible outcome for Samantha. No suffering for sure. I hope she will stay around for as long as she wants.

We're rooting for you ol' gal! Lots of hugs and kisses.

Thanks for your concern. The increase meds seem to be helping. Not as much as I hoped but there is some improvement.

I hope she continues to improve, Jeannie. Watching them in old, old age can be so hard.:hugs:

Will your vet try a steroid? Chaos had this problem and a short course of steroid as an anti inflammatory would set her up straight again. The inflammation was in her spine, causing the loss of sensation in her rear legs, but using steroids bought her a lot of time over the years. Yes, there is side effects, but it made a HUGE difference for Chaos.

Prayers and good thoughts from here. Get her a sling and walk with her. Echo's sling has kept her going for over 3 years. It clips on and just stays there, so it's convenient. gives her "handles". Also eases the walking and pooping so much.
