Please pray hard for my Sophie tonight

Sorry it has taken me so long to get back on here. While Sophie slept off her pain shot, I crashed and took a nap. Then had some errands....
Thanks to all who offered their prayers and support...My girl is HOME! When they carried her in, rolled up in a comforter, I was not sure that she would be coming back with me.
She was kind of shocky so they gave her sub-q fluids. When she was stabilized they X-rayed her from head to tail. The spine looks fine. The hips look okay (well, not okay, but same as usual, anyway.) After her pain shot they later managed to get her on her feet and ambulating a little on three legs with the use of a sling to keep the weight off the previously torn knee.
She has torn the left cruciate now.:banghead: No way of knowing if it gave way and made her fall, or if she slipped and tore it in the fall. No matter anyway.
Another round of crate rest and anti-inflammatories for two weeks then we will check her progress. I did manage to get her out to poo and pee after she got home.
On the positive side, he said the right (healed) cruciate felt sturdy and stable...no movement in the knee that shouldn't be there. I just have to keep her from damaging that one again while this new one heals.
Thanks again to all who prayed for my girl. She has been through so much with her ortho problems at such a young age. I was really scared for her this time..I thought it might be the end. But my girl is still with me and we will take it one day at a time.
Sophie sends :hugs::hugs::hugs::hugs::hugs:and lots of wet newfie :kiss::kiss::kiss: to everyone.....

Glad to hear she's home, but sorry about the cruciate. I wasn't aware that she'd torn the other. Did she have surgery on it? Is that the route you think you'll have to take? As I said to Jenn, make sure you get her DNA to the databank for the study they're doing on cruciates. Dang, we need to get answers to this far too frequent condition in order to save others from this pain. Give Sophie a big hug from us and some extra peanut butter in a kong. You're going to have to be creative about keeping her mind occupied while she's crated...been there, done that if it's any consolation.

Ginny,
She tore the right one previously in April...It was a partial so we went the conservative treatment route with it. He is pleased with the way that one has healed.
He does think that her problems are more due to her knees than hips! He said on a dysplasia scale of one to four he would consider her only a two maybe bordering on a three--that he has seen a lot worse. And she has always also had the bad knees/elbows, too.
As for the PB kong...beat you to it! She is working on one now. Will go tomorrow and see if the packing place has any good bones!

Glad to hear Sophie is home, but sorry to hear about the diagnosis. At least it is something you can deal with although not an easy route. I know you were prepared of the worst. Sending good thoughts to Sophie.

So sorry to hear about Sophie's cruciate. I have been there myself with Gabe! He ruptured his in March...oh this seems so common now! It's scary! We, too, opted for the conservative treatment...activity restriction and anti-inflammatories and he is completely healed. He started swimming again in July...we still don't let him rough-house though and don't allow him to run like a wild banchie...but otherwise he's back to normal. Hope Sophie heals up quicker than ever! Glad she is home and with you again.
