Please pray hard for my Sophie tonight

Erika, thanks for asking.
She seems to be feeling better. She could bear a little weight on the leg if I would let her off the sling. In a few days I may start doing that just a tiny bit at a time. Just so she doesn't stiffen up too much.
I think she is actually getting used to the routine. She seems to have accepted her fate, poor baby, and is actually relaxing in the crate.
I suppose I will know in a few days whether this may heal on it's own or need surgery this time.
Getting up and down is still the hardest part. Otherwise she seems to not be too uncomfortable most of the time.

Here's another one using a sling to get around. Know what you're going through, as we're doing it too. How old is Sophie? Young? If so, that's even worse. Poor Echo is old and has blown out both knees. We should start a club there are so many of us now. Sounds like she is improving, though.

I'm happy to hear that Sophie is doing a little better - poor girl. Probably a good idea to let her put a bit of weight on that leg now, would take some of the strain off her other knee.

Well, I let her walk on it a bit today. Took her outside on the sling then let her off it to walk around on her own to potty. She is bearing some weight, which is good. I just don't want to do ANYthing to up the risk of blowing the other one again.
I put the sling back on her to bring her back inside. Might let her walk a wee bit on it this evening inside....I am going to order one of the "real" slings from F & S. We are still using the towel/leash thing I rigged up.
Deep breath....one day at a time........

When you get the sling it will be easier. I would use it when she potties, especially then as squatting is hard on their knees. Echo doesn't seem to mind. In fact, she's beginning to depend on us giving her the extra lift, and that's okay, since we're doing this for "the duration", as the vet doesn't think she will improve a whole lot. Poor Sophie is so young to have to deal with this. Just be sure you watch that other knee. Echo's was good when she blew her first one, so her other lasted about 3 years or so, but now it is shot and she is old, so no surgery to fix her, and we'll just keep using the sling. Our best to you and Sophie.
