Outdoor "floor" suggestions/advice?

Hi all,
New England spring time yard - wet, muddy, yuck! Plus even in fall/summer the area that is fenced in for the dogs gets stinky and the grass cover is bad (between the urine, digging, trampling). I just decided I need some kind of flooring for the fenced in area. Cadie the Newf is a chewer and Meliah (my 12-lb rat terrier/chi mix) is a digger and a chewer. Sounds like concrete can harbor bacteria and be uncomfortable, but I need something easy to clean up poop. Any thoughts about what to use or not use? Any experience with Kennel Deck?

How is the artificial grass with regards to cleaning up stool? Does the urine soak through, then? Do you rinse off to keep it from getting smelly? :)

We've only had it since November... but so far so good with poop clean up. I am interested to see how it does with the urine (smell) during the Summer months. But we haven't had any issues so far.
