Oso is home

We picked up Oso's ashes and pawprint from the vet tonight. It's bittersweet.

There is yet another name for the list. Another newfie, named Sophie, was also in the hospital at the same time, also suffering from a very high fever. The vet told me tonight that it was discovered that Sophie had a cancerous mass on her spleen and was put to sleep the day after Oso. She was only 7.

I never met Sophie or her family but I understand their pain. Godspeed Sophie.

My heart aches deeply for you and all of the many Newf family members who've lost their dear Newfie souls. So many...gone too soon.

Such sadness lately. I'm sorry; I know how difficult it is and what it feels like to get their ashes back. And, now poor Sophie. I will say a prayer, too, for her family.

I'm so sorry. I know the deep pain an aching you feel in your heart. Sending you the biggest hug I can. I have Gabe's pawprint on my nightstand and a piece of his floof. :( Bittersweet. :( Godspeed Oso and I will be praying for Sophie and her family too.
