Hi everyone,
We are still about 3 months out in planning for the Annual Newf Get Together.
Has anyone made reservations or thought about coming?
We are coming for a relaxing weekend. It has been a very busy summer w boarding and grooming.

It is always the last weekend in October. So, October 24-26 are the dates.
The a Windjammer is taking reservations.

Hi Deb! Of course we are coming. We made our reservations last year when we were forced to leave when Chumley got sick. The Windjammer was kind enough to transfer the remaining days on my credit card to this year. Has anyone spoken to them about a Newf group discount? I've forgotten the room number, but it's the same room on the second floor end unit. We have no problem climbing steps so this leaves more first floor rooms for those who really need it.
I really hope lots of new people come and join us. We all get together in the sandy courtyard on Saturday and let the dogs romp and play. We then each bring a dish on Saturday night for a pot luck dinner. Early Sunday, we take the dogs for a leaisurely stroll up and down the boardwalk. Just noticed on the site, they must have painted it all blue. It's right on the ocean and the dogs get to swim in the ocean. Most arrive on Friday, but my mom and I are going Thursday and leaving Sunday. The property mgr. is Christian Horn and their ph.# is 410-289-9409. The weekend is Halloween weekend. Come join us for a mini-vacation with your dogs!

Darn, can't make October. Horse rescue I volunteer with does it's major fundraiser every weekend in Oct and the last one is always the busiest! Hope everyone has tons of fun though.

We plan on going with Suki & our 3 kids!! Our first time was last year and it was so much fun! My kids still talk about everyone's dogs.

Waiting for callback from Chris re: group discount. O.k...Chris called right back. He said there's a 10% discount off the rate plus they'll waive the pet fee which can really add over the nights, especially if you bring two dogs. The seasonal rates are posted on their website as well as the various pet-friendly condos. Not all the condos are pet-friendly as each condo is individually owned so reserve now to be assured a room. Chris said he thought 17 rooms were filled for the group last year. Also, when making reservations either online or by phoning Chris, remember to mention you're with the group so you get the discount. Lower floor is great for people or dogs who can't climb steps or those who like lots of action, but the 2nd and 3rd floors have the added bonus of beautiful sunrise/sunsets over the ocean. Please, please come join us! The more, the merrier! Oh...and Rehoboth beach has a huge Halloween parade that weekend too if you're worried about kids missing Halloween.

This is the Windjammer's last full weekend since the next weekend (being Halloween) they officially close on November 1st which is a Saturday. I'm sorry if I caused any confusion to anyone other than myself! I'm so glad you get to go Dawn!

Hi Stacy,
I am glad your coming....I hope your pup stays healthy for you.
We are in room 111, the same as last year. We are coming on Thursday.
We just adopted a 1 year old Newf. He was a puppy mill disaster and we are now teaching him some manners.. With 3 Newfs, Dan will be busy.
I will make BBQ beef and bring rolls. That is easy. I am having a Total shoulder replacement on 10/6, so I will still be in a sling.
We are looking forward to getting away.

Thor being the amazing dog that he is has booked us in room 204. We will be arriving early afternoon on Friday. We are happy to bring a main course or salads or whatever is needed. Is someone tracking food so we know what has been picked?

Glad you can make it too Brittany and Tom/Debbie! I just can't think as to what food item to bring, but I promise I'll commit to something soon. I just have to prepare for Newfstock in less than 3 weeks first.
Deb...Chumley WILL stay healthy this time. I was able to pinpoint where and even which dog he acquired kennel cough from. It was at a parade with other dogs from his training facility, so no parades for 3 weeks prior to OC.
I'm sorry to hear about your shoulder, but we'll be checking on you to see if we can help with anything..."many hands a light load makes." I guess we're the only two arriving on Thursday.
