NN Pari at the vets today getting leg x-ray

I have no idea what happened. None.

Last night, the trio all ate their dinners. The boys went upstairs to play on the bed (Khabo's fault - he heard there were pillows that needed to be rolled on).

Pari went outside. By herself. In our perfectly flat back yard. Fenced in. No ice. Not much snow left. No boys to harrass, or wrestle or run into her.

Almost exactly one hour later - we go out to get her for bedtime and she stands up - on three legs. We get a towel to use as a sling and get her inside and up to the bedroom. We gave her a Traumeel pill hoping she just tweaked it and she'd wake up fine.

This morning, still on three legs. I brought her to the vet at 8:30 am and they kept her so they could run x-rays on the leg. The vet palpated and manipulated the entire leg. She said nothing about cruciate. She did say that the femur felt off (but since Pari is a total puff ball with her winter coat, she said it could be swelling or fur). She did not feel a break. And she thought the knee joint was loose.

I'm waiting for the call with the x-ray results now.

I am so sorry. Please post an update when you hear back from the vet.

I am not familiar with Pari...has she had problems with this leg in the past?

Oh, I'm sorry. I really hope it's nothing too serious...keep us posted. Pari is such a beautiful bear! Fingers crossed and hugs from Illinois!

Pari is my work horse. She's always been my healthy girl. But... a few times a year, she'll come in the house limping on this particular leg (always the same leg). Some rest and a traumeel, and she's right as rain the next day. The vet has looked at the leg several times and said it feels a little stiff, but it could be onset of arthritis. She's already on joint supplements and 95% of the time, she moves very fluidly.

This is the first time she won't bear weight on it at all.

I'll be sure to update as soon as I hear from the vet.
