Wow! That dog is too smart for his own good!
I thought it was bad that we had to change all the door knobs at my mom's house because they had the lever-style handle instead of the round knob. Her maine coon cat was tall enough, and smart enough to open all the doors. But this dog is way beyond that!

You got that right. My friend's youngest Basset has figured out how to open a lever type door handle to the fenced back yard, both going in and coming out. My other friend with Bassets had some door handles changed from lever to knob, because a foster learned to open them. I just sent this link to both.

We have a lever handle from our dressing room to the back yard. Brandy, the rotten rowdie Rhodey Ridge used to open it all the time. Now we lock it, inside with the thumb screw, outside by leaving the key in it. Note- to get to that yard with 4 dogs in it a thief would have to cross the front yard which is locked to invade a house with those 4 days in the yard and 4 more in the house and another (pit bull mix) in the breezeway by the side door Don't think so.

Man, that dog is probably A LOT of trouble! Besides the level of problem solving ability...the sheer determination too! I do not envy his/her owner :lol:
