Newf pups and puppy cam

I'm amazed at how much they've grown in just a few days! And they have a terrific sense of where breakfast comes from.

Mom came in the box and lay down with her back to the pups who were all the way at the other end. One black pup tirelessly wobbled the whole length of the box, and squirmed the whole long way around Mom so he could help himself to the milk bar. It was an epic journey.

I honestly don't know why that tickles me so much, but it does.

And you tell "my" little Landseer boy that he's not allowed to hide in the corner closest to the cam. I could just barely see the tips of his pudgy paws, which flicked on occasion. Not fair...LOL.

So beautiful. And I'm sorry for the loss of your two pups. Little girl with white toes and chin reminds me of when my Traveler was born. I was so blessed to be able to spend 9 days with the new litters, but sadly a couple of pups were lost then also. I couldn't believe what hard work it was, so exhausting with 2 moms and 11 puppies. Highest praise to my breeder Nina and all you other breeders who do this phenomenal work. This is not for the faint of heart. Thank you again for sharing your new babies with us.

Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful babies with us, and for sharing your tragic losses. So many times we forget how difficult, and heart-breaking breeding can be. The hopeful result is gorgeous, happy, healthy puppies (yours) but the loss of any can be gut wrenching.

I happened to check in around 4:15 or so, and found the pups eating from their bowls. They were VERY enthusiastic! LOL. When the bowls were removed, they waddled all over the place wondering where that yummy stuff went. Noses to the ground and really hunting for it.

Then checked in again around 6:00 this evening and they were playing with each other, bopping noses with their little paws and gnawing on each other. So adorable. I'm really gettiing a kick out of watching them grow up.

Lucky you. Seems like every time I log on they are sleeping. I can still see how they are growing.

Yesterday I caught an epic bitey face battle. They are so cute and have the best chubby baby bellies I can't stand it! I don't know how you get anything done with this threesome around.

The nursery is actually two rooms that the previous owners converted into one. Basically it's a bedroom with a cutout to a sitting area, which is now the nursery. I have a desk/computer, TV, recliner, bed in the same room with the whelping/puppy box. I have lived in the room with Alice and the pups for the last four weeks. Alice has access to a dog door and a 1200 sq ft kennel with deck for lounging. She comes and goes as she wants. She has been a great mother, very attentive, very gentle, but enjoying her time away from the pups. Today the pups moved into the weaning pen. It is off the kennel and the big dogs will pass by the pups on their way out the dog door. This new pen will give the pups more room to move about and explore. When the weather permits, they'll go outside for some fresh air.

The pen is from Petsmart, though I don't think they still sell this model any more. The pups seem to be enjoying their new home.

This has been so incredible for us to see the babies come and grow...how wonderful for us that aren't in the breeding world...just love seeing these babies. I told my husband I would be lying in there with them and let them crawl all over me...I miss the babies and the puppy breath stage...thank you, thank you, thank you for letting us in...so special!!!

I have to admit I often lie on the floor and let the pups climb on me. It is addictive. There is nothing sweeter than lying on the floor with the pups.

This just keeps getting better and better. I thought the Landseer boy was a hellion, but the other two are just as hysterical. I watched Nora run full tilt from one end of the pen all the way to the door where she plowed into the other two, setting up a raucous tussle. And if that wasn't enough, Alice was busy yanking one of the tug ropes right under the pen. It got hung up, and she pulled so hard I thought she was going to topple the whole setup. They are all having a wonderful time and I love every minute of it.

One of my favorite games is where one pup takes a toy outside, then brings it in, then takes it out, then brings it in, over and over. Seems like that goes on forever and its as much fun to watch as it is to play, I'll bet. I'd love to know what is going on in their minds.

They are just so much fun to watch every day, but I am already thinking about how much I will miss watching them grow up.

I can almost smell the puppy breath. I cannot believe I have missed this up until now. I am so very sorry for your loss. The devastation of the lost of a tiny puppy. let alone two, is more than I could stand. I totally, completely admire you wonderful breeders for all your work, suffering and compassion.
