Even with rescues, there is usually an adoption fee. This seems a little high & people shouldn't be expected to take a crate they might not need. JMHO

they originally wanted 6 hundred. I told them I did not need all the accessories. Just the pup. They want what they have "invested" into him since his is fixed. I don't think they thought this out. Just want him out of there since they may not think another out.

It's reallyreallyreallyreally hard to take the high road on this one. If they new they were having a baby why the heck did they get a puppy??? I understand why some people ask for a modest fee (to try keeping the pooch out of harm's way), and I applaud them for trying to find him a home instead of dumping him in a shelter, but to try to recoup their losses is awful.

Sounds like they didn't think a lot of things through. Maybe their in financial difficulties as well and need the money, what with a new baby. (trying to think good thoughts here...). I wish I was in the position to take on a puppy right now, but I can't.

sokkia, I sent you an e-mail about this little guy - I may be able to help out as my family and I are looking for a Newf puppy to adopt. We are in RI so NH isn't far for us. Let me know what info you have and maybe we can make arrangements with these people - better than letting him stay where his is.

HE IS NEAUTERED. HE IS UP TO DATE WITH ALL SHOT. I HAVE ALL HIS PAPERS.

I am sad to say we have to re-home our puppy. He is just too much to take care of at this time with our 6 month old son. They are so close in age and its just hard to juggle right now. He is a chow/newfoundland mix all black. He wants to beloved and give lots of love and kisses. He already has a runner leash, a retractable leash, regular leash, colar, create(large with divider), 3 unused bags of food, 5 toys and 4 bones, 3 bags of treats, bed, brush, puppy pads, puppy odor remover and some other misc. things. Please respond by phone first 603-300-7112. Use email second. We are asking 200 adoption fee for the pup and 200 for all his belonings. We will only sell with everything together. He is use to all his belongings and want him to be comfortable as much as posable when he goes to him new home.

Wonder what kind of "papers" he is talking about. Sure hope this little guy can find a good home. Shame on them for having ever gotten him!

Sherry, that's what I'm thinking. It's not like they got him then unexpectedly got pregnant... they musta have got him when she was almost due!!!! I'm telling you, the 'Marshal Abandoned in the Woods' story (in my own back yard) has really taken away my tolerance and understanding for people. Thank goodness I've got my Newf to cheer me up!

If someone close by wants to "purchase" this little guy, I will help pay the fee. This type of crap is driving me crazy lately. I've had dogs all my life, and have never never given one up because "it's too much trouble" to take care of. Shame of people who do this.

Susan I think that is wonderful for you to offer. I am going to be talking with the "owners" today. See what we can do.

Update********
This little guy has been rehomed. Not sure of the details. Owner states he went to a very good home. Although they do not seem to make very good decisions. Lets hope they did in fact find a good home.

Thanks for letting us know. We can just hope and pray.

I'm curious guys. Underneath the Craig's list post says Take me Home. Is that part of the post because they are a rescue group and not one I would ever again deal with here in Toronto. I took a dog from them and they met me in a parking lot of a car dealership. They never did a house visit and most of their dogs come from Ohio shelters. They haven't a clue what they are doing except that they are doing it for money and that's about it. What rescue doesn't do a home visit? I hope this isn't what I think it is.
