We have a new addition to the family! I really wanted a puppy, but when Dan and I saw all the newfs in rescue we decided to take in a newf in need....Meet Odin(formerly Newton). Odin is 3 and came from a very abusive situation. His family didn't really take care of him. They let him roam free, and on top of that their neighbor was coming on to their property and abusing Odin. Kicking and punching him. Shooting him with BB's. And...Letting their pitbul attack Odin. He is a very scared boy. Needs a lot of TLC!!!! Skin is horrible. Never seen ears so infected. He took to the raw immediately and has gained great trust in me already. He's only been here since saturday. I've gotten him to play with toys. He hates loud noises. Adjusting a little to Shannon's love of barking Merlin tried to play with him with a toy but he went into resource guarding. I took the toy from him and gave it to Merlin and we are working on him understanding he will always be able to go to the box and choose a toy. He does enjoy the toys but not Merlin chasing him. He also likes Sassy a lot!
His build and floofy head reminds me a lot of Roger. He has the sweetest eye's but will be even sweeter when the trust is there and his eyes get that special twinkle. He needs to put on at least 20-25 lbs. Look's like he just stepped out of a concentration camp. A few day's on raw and I already see him perkier. Also giving him satin balls.
He came from SCNR, and with the help of 3 wonderful people made his way safely to us. I know one of them is on here...Thank you Maggie & Elvis for opening your home to this sweet boy and helping to get to us!!!
