Sadly, I had to cancel my reservation for this year because our girl has bone cancer and we can't leave her. As Codes said to me ~ there will always be lots of Nationals, but there is only one Nellie. :heart:

I'm so sorry to hear about your Nellie. You're right to savour any time you have left with her. Hopefully we will meet in PA next year. We're in Frankenmuth for 8 nights so we'll have lots of time to try your suggestions.

We had a terrible wind storm in Ottawa and lost our power at noon yesterday. Two trees fell on the wires in our back yard. Hydro said they'd be here tonight but it's 10:45 pm and no sign yet. There were still 3,000 homes without power at supper time and 22,000 across the river on the Quebec side. We're mostly packed and ready to go but can't leave until power is back on and house is secure. Bad timing but we can't complain when we hear about Alabama. We had injuries from falling trees. One girl has two broken legs and there's lots of property damage but no deaths.

So, here I am, it's 6am Sunday and I'm in Wisconsin, and setting off for Frankenmuth via Chicago in a minute. Think we will get there around 6-ish. See you soon!!

Nope, we both canceled our vacations. We WILL see you all in PA next year, though.

Edit: Angela, you guys are SO brave! Instead of going via Chicago, I would have driven up to the upper peninsula and taken the Mackinac Bridge over. It's only a 7 hour trip from central WI. I know you aren't driving, though. That part of MI is *SO* beautiful!

I'm here! Our room has a balcony that over looks the courtyard and adult pool. Nice! Except for the dirty pair of underwear in the dresser drawer! Which was quickly removed by housekeeping.

Now the thermostat is broken and they have to replace it. It is COLD in here 64 degrees and still cooling. Where is my winter coat?

I'm here, registered, and set up on the second floor opening onto the terrace that overlooks the site.

Joan....I have several nice bottles of Sutton's Bay white wine and one Leelanau red...along with a block of raclette from Leelanau cheese. So this year I can contribute to the party more than just my sparkling conversation!

Please please please take plenty of pics and get pics of Hawk (Ch Nighthawk-Dryad vom Trieberg) getting his ROM if anyone can. Since he is the sire of our two, they want to see Daddy and we just want tons of pics. :)

My understanding is that only the people will be there not the Newfs being presented, I will be there and take any if there are dogs.

BTW we had a nice dinner on Sunday with Joan and Commander Fisher, Jeannie, and several others. We bumped into Ohana Mom, Alica, so far plenty of fun, but tomarrow the work begins.

Wednesday schedule

I am coming with the kids to the National just for one day. I couldn't find hourly schedule for Wednesday events on the NCA website. Any idea wher I can find that?
