She presented all the signs of bloat this morning, so we took her to the emergency vet. They've admitted her, first x-ray show's no bloat. Please keep us in your thoughts & prayers today.

When admitted her heart rate was over 240. She's now down at 120, which isn't perfect but much better. They don't like the arrythmia but say they wouldn't treat it with meds and suggest we see a cardiologist. But everthing inconclusive, including the ultra sound, they think possibly a kidney infection and have cultured (get those results tomorrow) They wanted to keep her overnight for observation but we will be picking her up. I really have a hard time seeing that a kidney infection will cause symtoms of bloat, am I crazy? Going to get her around 7ish.

With a heart rate that elevated...did they mention sepsis? If she were mine I would probably leave her over night....unless you question whether she would receive proper care there.

She's home and she's a train wreck, but we feel we did the right thing by bringing her home. All her blood work has pretty much come back normal, so I don't get it. She's a very nervous girl, and picking her up I now understand why they felt heart issues, she hyperventilated all the way home, she's resting in her happy spot now....and it will be a long night for all of us.

When are you seeing the cardiologist and is she going back to the vet in,the morning?
What a worry it all must be. More hugs to her and let us know in the morning how she is doing.

She's much much better this morning. Got her to eat a little and go outside and pee. Still not normal but it was a traumatic experience for her, I'm sure. She was so bad last night because they gave her an injection of Buprenex just before we picked her up. (wish they mentioned that, grrr) No plans as to what we do next just yet, waiting on urine culture results, which I still don't understand cause her numbers seem normal. Our mobile vet is dealing with his father's end of life right now, we've been in touch and will further our conversations and follow up when the opportunity arises (unless we have major issues-he's available to us)
