I'm with you. Also, not really  *sigh*aaarrrggghhhh. I am seriously going to Pro Plan or Science Diet. (Not really just venting).
Look at it this way folks, maybe they caught it quick enough before the problem got wide spread. A bad company may not have reacted so quickly allowing more tainted product to get in the retail supply line and then deny there was a problem The big companies have the legal resources to drag it out when it does happen. I think it is all part of what they call it Risk ManagementThe company said one bag tested positive for Salmonella, and the recall is being conducted as a precautionary measure. No dog illnesses have been reported.
That would be the worry, that another company with the legal resources would be having their food made at the same company that makes Diamond and is not as quick to recall. Actually they don't need much legal resources, dogs are property and you can't recoup much on property so until that changes then all dog products become income for the companies but a source of danger for their owners.Quoted from the news link..

Crap happens and in today's manufacturing processes it happens very fast. I feed TOTW, and I am not bothered that much by it. As long is there is not a major supply issue for the retail customer, I am glad they caught it early and reacted.
