Good to hear Ruuti is feeling better.........We are very lucky, we do not have ticks where we live....too scary.

Yes, Ruuti is definitely doing much better today, but it'll take a few days for her to recover. Luckily we caught it on time, and luckily we knew what to look for and tell the vet what we suspected. The lab results aren't here yet, but as Ruuti's responding well to the medication, we'll wait till tomorrow to check with the vet again. This parasite is not very common where we live (Belgium), but is very common where we take our holidays (southern France).

Tick diseases are definitely NOT wonderful; our friends (two families) have lost newfs to borreliosis (Denmark), piroplasmosis (Hungary) and anaplasmosis (Kerrie's Titan in Germany) :(
