Justice for Buddy

Buddy was a GSD/Blue Heeler mix who was dragged to his death in Colorado. Any dog lover will be sickened by this.

Joan Anzelmo, superintendent of the monument, told The Denver Post that tracks left in the snow clearly show how the crime was committed: The dog initially walked, then ran and eventually was dragged when it couldn't keep up with the vehicle. It was finally dumped after it died from the dragging.
She said the German shepherd mix was forced to run up one of the steepest hills at the monument. During the 3 miles, the dog had to run on about 2 inches of snow, around multiple switchbacks and sharp curves that gained more than 1,000 feet in elevation before the animal collapsed and died.
Marylou Randour, a staff psychologist for the Humane Society of the United States, said the person or persons who committed the act is a psychopath. "He is someone who has no compassion or empathy for any living creatures," Randour said. Randour added that the individual is extremely dangerous and a threat to human beings as well as animals.
"He may not have been angry at all," she said of the individual. "He may have done it for kicks — to torture an animal in an elaborate and detailed way."
Randour, who has studied animal abusers for years, said a recent study of 43,000 people found that those with drug problems and mental-health problems are most likely to engage in animal cruelty.

Not what I wanted to see this morning....... after reading the links, I decided that it would not be good for me to respond to this. My blood is boiling, think I better go get a third cup of coffee....................

Romero faces a maximum three years in prison, a fine up to $100,000 and a year of mandatory parole if convicted on a federal charge of felony cruelty to animals.

.....Rest well poor baby, not all humans are this cruel!

Put the individual/s in jail with a collar around their neck with a leash attached.....then allow the other inmates to serve out the punishment....

This just makes me sick. I really do think that animal cruelty should be a felony and not a misdemeanor. Too many of this sickos get off with a fine and slap on the wrist. As the article says, these people usually go on to abusing people, if they aren't already doing so. I'm too stunned to even cry for this poor dog.

Had my coffee and thought this over, this evil piece of human dung has no place in society. Any person that could derive pleasure from the torture death of an innocent animal has no place among the living. It was a poor defenseless dog this time, maybe next it would be a child or adult to provide this creature his thrill. A few years in jail and a fine will only delay this piece of dung from doing worse. Locking him away for life would be the civil thing to do, but I am sure that he will be rushed through the system and back out on the street within a few months.

My gut feeling is not civil, a bullet to this piece of dung’s head would be a act of kindness compared to the pain and terror he inflected.

Pure evil....prayers for Buddy and dogs like him who suffer and die at the will of these monsters. Hoping his fellow inmates will show him some jailhouse justice.

Sickening. Crime has gotten so bad in Grand Junction. My wife's grandmother lived there for a long time. When I first went there I loved the place. In about 3 years the city completely changed. One of the many reasons we were compelled to move her out of Grand Junction.

I took note of your post and I am saddened, but I will not be looking at it........I can't

People who do these things are scary, because we all know what will be next. Another incident which might kill another animal or person :(

Just read the first two lines but couldn't go further. Sickening - we had a similar case in a town not far from here and it was their elderly family pet. Unfortunately, the penalties for this kind of cruelty are never enough - these psychopathic creeps walk away with a slap on the wrist.

Poor Buddy, enjoy your peaceful rest. The article said that Buddy was probably stolen by the people who committed his crime. I'm sure someone somewhere loved him very much and misses him.

I can't look at this. It's hard to even think about. I am glad that they made a special note that this person is crazy and dangerous to all.

Hey we had a woman here in Toronto drag her Poodle with her car to teach it not to run away if you can believe that. The Humane Society returned her dog to her after 3 months feeling that she had learned her lesson. Then of course the Humane Society is in deep dodo these days. I can't understand how no one saw this happening. It's almost impossible that he could have done this for such a distance and not a soul in sight? I say euthanize him (not in a pleasant way either) as they do say he's a menace to society.

Actually I reconsidered. To let the punishment really fit the crime he should spend the rest of his miserable life in a cosmetic lab for testing.

Punishment should fit the crime. Do exactly to him what he did to this poor innocent pet. This is not a human, he is an evil ,heartless spawn of the devil not fit to function in society.
