inspired by the Bucephalus post.. What maladies have you imagined your Newf to have?

I convinced myself over the course of the past almost 5 years that Wash has had...

dysplasia
Bad knee
Lymes
Thought he was deaf for awhile
Worms (when they eat spagetti it comes out..nevermind)
Have been positive he's had fleas more than once

Dont think I've forgotten any, he's had none of these things, our Vet thinks we are special I'm sure.

(first dog, panic'd over everything)

Once I thought Panda had bloat. Thank God she didn't. I called Gary at work crying telling him to come home. I rushed Panda to the vet who proved to me she was not bloating. I still insisted on a x-ray to see her stomach was normal. Pretty expensive upset tummy!

Deafness
ACL
Dead - Ooreo scared the crap out of me. She was so sound asleep, I could not wake her up for 5 minutes.
Thyroid
Im sure there's more

What a wonderful thread! Thanks for not making me feel :icon_stupid:
Millie is only a puppy and I have diagnosed her with a few things!!! :tequila:

Thought Morgan was pregnant after her first heat. Turned out it was a false pregnancy with really full udders! Scared the sheez out of me and my honey!!

Glad my panic attack has turned to humor :) Phew!

Well, obviously there was the HD thing (we still need to get x-rays when we neuter him)
Elbow Dysplasia (this was real, so glad I checked up on it. He had surgery and is doing GREAT now! Woohoo!)
Kidney failure (because he was peeing on the floor overnight. Turned out to be nothing)
Bloat
And various other forms of deathly disease anytime there was diarrhea, not eating a meal, throwing up, etc.

Is there a medical diagnosis for people who are dog hypochondriacs?

HA!

Multiple personality disorder, narcissistic personality disorder, passive aggressive personality disorder...

But seriously, like Jen, I usually don't have to imagine. =(

Only bloat :(, but that was when I was renting a house with a few other students (they had a dog). Vera was on raw, so as usual I had fed her the bones in the morning. During the day the others had left the pantry door open and Vera had gotten to the other dog's kibble bag... and had emptied it quite a bit... So when I came home, I though she was bloating as her stomach was FULL and VERY painful when touching. She was getting uncomfortable. So I rushed her to the vet, had her X-rayed and found that she had a full stomach with bones still in (from the morning). So of course she was in pain :(. She stayed there overnight and got pain killers to get through the night. I was FURIOUS (and still am!!) that the others hadn't told me that Vera had gotten to the food (and they never admitted though I never asked straight on why they didn't tell me - but how else would she have had a full tummy!! ). But nope, it wasn't bloat.
