Hello fellow newfie lovers!
I'm Rebecca, enan's ( aka Terry's ) wife. We are the new proud parents of "Husker" who is now 13 weeks old. He's the joy of our lives and we absolutely love spending our time with him. He's been very good since bringing him home. We had some transitional issues at first such as not wanting to eat, not wanting to climb stairs ( only two steps into the house ), not wanting to walk on the hardwood floors, and he had never been on a leash, so the first couple of walks were interesting to say the least. I'm happy to report that he's eating up to five cups of food a day now, he's happily taking the steps into the house ( although climbing to the 2nd story of the house hasn't even crossed his little puppy brain yet ). He absolutely loves the hardwood floors now and his favorite place to sleep is of course, right over the air conditioning vent. He loves going for walks and can be quite enthusiastic on the lead, but we're working on tiring him out beforehand. We've had him to the vet twice and he's put on 4.5 lbs in the matter of one week!
We took him to the dog park today and although he didn't completely take to the water, he was at least happy to get his feet wet. ( you can see pictures of Huskers trip to the dog park on my husband's thread. )
We look forward to making a great circle of friends on the site and if anyone happens to be in the southeastern WI / northeastern IL area and would like to meet up for newfie play dates, we'd be more than happy to have the opportunity!
Thanks to Golden_Girl for recommending the NCNC site. We'll keep an eye on it for events that we may be able to attend in the future. Unfortunately, everything for 2008 conflicts for us. We'll defnitely be looking for the Newfiepalooza date posting. I don't wanna miss that!!!!
