I have a foster - Non Newf

I may have long term living arrangements but not permanent ones, I decided to get a foster. I inquired with a local shelter and they were looking for foster parents. So they were showing at a couple of local Petsmarts yesterday and I took a nice guy home. His name is Springsteen. He is about 90 lbs and seems to have some newf in him.

So many traits remind me of Indy and they will be familiar to you too!
Head in Lap
Thinks he is a lap dog!
Sleeps by the door
Loves to be near you
Loves to stand between your legs
Sheds like one! (Hair is similar too. Good undercoat as well)
Leans!

What is odd is that he does not make a sound! and not much of a clue as to when he needs to go out but I may pick up on it this week. He had a couple of pee accidents yesterday - seems maybe like marking. He is sooooo sweet. Such a lover! They think he is a Lab/Bull mastiff mix. The way he sheds I say Newf and who knows what!

What do you think he is? Dont let that front leg fool you, it is just like his rear legs. Thin. Not sure why it looks that way in the pic.

Looking at the head shot, maybe some Bull Mastiff. Wide like my Soda of 35 years ago. But the coat comes from something else. Bull Mastiff coats are rather like boxers or danes or even hounds. Short, no undercoat at all.

rottie/ lab??
That was my first thought.
Skull shape is very rottie...........They are lovely dogs when treated right. Our trainer has a few of them and he rescues them. And there appears a hint of lab.
Bless you for being so kind and giving him a good caring foster home, Ronnie

I was thinking Lab/Rott too. We had a lab/rott mix, but your guy's head looks more rotty than ours did. He was the sweetest love-mufffin, really, super sweet.
Hope to hear more about your new guy!

do you think you might end up being a foster failure, whatever he is he looks a cutie and the pair of you can help each other out over the coming weeks

He sounds wonderful !!!! it's the look in his eyes that look Newfie to me. He's got that "I love you look"

Congratulations on your new friend....looks like you both healed your "Hungry Heart" I'm really happy for you and Springsteen...

He looks a lot like our first Lab, Zeus, and like he has some Rottie or Mastiff in him. Contrary to what most people think, Labs do shed and our Bogie sheds a lot! Congrats on the foster!
