Hi all,

Anyone with a store near them that has the Orijen Senior 30lb bag that I can call and order? Is anyone else having problems finding it or is it just my little space of NJ?

Thanks!
Melissa

Melissa- There are a few places that would have Orijen in stock in NJ, but few and far between when I needed it. I used to order from petfooddirect.com. But I had to make a few emergency visits to a few feed stores when I ran out. I used to drive to Riverdale to go to Mike's feed farm. Call ahead and see if they have any in stock. And whenever I was down south visiting Nes, I'd stop at some stores down there. You can also use this store locator to help you find something close to you http://www.orijen.ca/orijen/storeLocator/NewJerseyStoreListing.aspx

I tried PetFlow and got the great rate and ordered! Had a live chat session with Trisha who said they really did have it in stock. Thank you CharlieinNJ.

I checked into k9cuisine but it was just too expensive. Thank you for the referral though Clifford!

Meg & Boj - checked all over, including the Orijen site. When you call the 800 number they don't even pick up they ask you to leave a message and then they will call you back.....lol good thing it's good food!

Thank you all!!

Melissa,
Please let me know how long it takes to get your order. I've been thinking about trying them.

I was going to suggest Mike's Feed too, as Meg did. They are the distributor in that area. You could try to find Acana. It is 3 fish but a good food many here use.

Thank you Lynn. I checked out their website and since they are open tomorrow will give them a call to check.

Charlieinnj - I actually thought you were referring from first hand knowledge! lol, I will let you know how long it takes!

Thanks again everyone,
Melissa

I've been using petflow for a couple months now. They ship my orders on a wed and I usually get it mon or Tues. The fastest it's arrived was on fri. They ran out of the big bags of 6 fish but they were quick to ship 2 smaller bags instead for the same price. I highly recommend them.

**Update**

I ordered from Petflow on Friday, it shipped Monday, and got here today! Just in the nick of time!

I did call Mike's Feed Store and they had it in stock, so if there was any further delay I would have driven there.

Thank you so much!

Excellent news! Calculate shipping vs gas and see if it's cheaper to pick it up from Mikes Feed. They have two locations, I've been to the Paterson one too, but only with my body guard, Bojie;) they make they're own dehydrated chicken and beef and sweet potato treats at a much lower price than the mega stores and Boj loved them. Glad you got your bag! I used to hate that frantic feeling when I couldn't find any! It's amazing out here they sell it on almost every street corner.

Have you tried Acana? I might be easier to find and basically the same food for less.
No I haven't but I have been thinking of transitioning to another brand so that I don't have to go through this every year! Thank you for the recommendation, I'll let you know when I've made the move!

A Tractor Supply Store just opened 30 miles from me so I think I'm going to change to Taste of the Wild. Orijen has become impossible and the one place that sometimes had it closed.

I switched Boj to Acana for a bit. I did it cold turkey (no mixing) without problems. He ballooned a little bit as he needs to loose 15lbs, so I switched him back to see if it was the change, or if it was me spoiling him a bit to much;) either way, great food, no issues. And it's great to know it's there if I need it to switch back to.

Meg, I switched to Acana too without and resulting weight issues, so it can't be the food that caused Boj's weight gain. And as far as you spoiling him too much, :!rolling:well that can't be the issue either!

You're completely right Lynn, I don't know what I was thinking! There's no way it could be my fault, he must sneak into the cookie drawer while I'm at work...I've heard about emotional eating. I'll discuss this with him.
