Jager's Mom

I am in need of NN expertise...
Quick background: Took Bear in last October for what we thought was problems with his hips...found out he needed both knees repaired. (Vet said his hips could wait). Did one knee in Oct, the other in Jan. He has been doing extremely well. Me, being the over protective Mom...hasn't allowed him to do much playing...very controlled playing.
Today, we were driving in the car for apprx 2.5 hours when all of a sudden he started yelping and yelping. I tried to see what he was doing that could be hurting..but couldn't see very well. Pulled over...checked him/walked him around, he seemed fine. Put him back in car and he let out a small yelp.
Got home, tried to feed him...wouldn't eat. He was in pain. Paced around, sat down, paced around, sat down. Checked for bloat... all is good.
****After feeling around and lightly pushing everywhere on his body... we have found it's his right hip. The pain shows when we push on the side of the hip. Not when we move it around, lift it, rotate it...no problems.
What could he have done? No evidence of ANY pain before we left in the car. For all we could tell, he was just laying in the back of the SUV when the yelping began.
I'm not sure if he just tweeked something? But why is he still hurting?
We have given him some left over meds (previcox) from knee surgery... I should mention... he is still in pain after having the meds in his system for 2 hours. He is no longer yelping (that only lasted for about 30 seconds), but he is still in pain.
Please HElP....
