So, I just have to brag about my brother, who is co-owner of our newf Raven. We call him her "Sugar Daddy". He is in town with us from San Diego, while my husband is deployed yet again
We live in Moore, OK and this past Tuesday were under a severe weather threat. Normally, we have a plan that includes taking Raven to a weather safe kennel/animal hospital while we go wait out the storms and tornadoes in a local public shelter (that doesn't take animals). We were frightened when we found out that our safe haven for her was booked on Tuesday.
I fled our home with my 2 human children to the local shelter while an F4 tornado was barreling on a path straight for our home - my brother stayed home with Raven, hovering over her in our hall closet. He was not going to leave his girl and risked his life to be with her.
By the grace of God, the tornado lifted just as it got to our town, but dumped debris from wrecked homes in our yard and neighborhood. There was no fleeing north or south as F4 tornadoes broke out in several spots around central OK. We are in the process of hopefully finding a pet friendly safe spot!
