People have been taught that they're special, rules don't apply to them, and if they complain hard enough, they'll eventually get what they want.

Our kennel is only open 7-9am for pickups on sundays. I'd prefer your way. :)
We are open 3:30 to 7:30 p.m. on Sundays and holidays except Christmas. We tell customers to call 1/2 hour before arriving. If we don't answer the phone to leave a message and we will call when we get back. This way if something comes up we can have a half way normal life.

Not to violate NN rules, but don't people realize that some of us still DO go to church on Sunday?

Dawn if you want to drive all the way here and arrive on a Sunday morning I'll be here. I do make exceptions for people who re traveling long distances to get here. I have regular customers who drive 2 hours or more to get here. Right now I have a regular here while the owners are in Florida for a month. They stop by here enroute from WI.

Brad I've had people yell at me because I go to church instead of being open for them. However for a while we are attending a Saturday evening service because Gary is training for a marathon and the group does their long runs on Suncay. Still Sunday is the morning I can not be rushed for customers. In the summer I can sit on the porch with my morning tea and enjoy. It's great to have a few hours to ourselves. We are open all other days at 6:30 a.m. until 7:30 p.m. after 5 and weekends are by appointment only.

I'll be there just so we can have that tea sitting on the porch ;) When is this weather gonna break??? I actually miss my morning tea on the deck with the pups.

On a not so serious note, I was just being a smarty farty, Jeannie, guessing you know that but nice to know exceptions get made, when needed.

We get stuff like that all the time....but you have to keep that sense of humor when dealing with people.

I can't leave my car, I have to keep it!!!! Well, the harness and straps that attach our mechanics to the cars while driving down the road are at the repair shop themselves from the last 4 car pile up they caused

By the way....how's the cough? Did you come up with anything that helps?

I know you were kidding. But if ever we can sit on the porch and have tea, say about July? Then the newfs can go swimming in our pond!

The cough is still there. After talking with my primary doctor I decided to take the 2 meds that seemed to help together to see is they would help. I asked my dr if they could be taken together. I have noticed a decrease in my cough. I don't know if it is the meds or the tablespoon of raw honey I take each day. I'm not changing anything at this time. It feels good not to cough so hard all day long that I gag. I'll keep you posted. Thanks for asking.

Maybe they are just clueless and not aware that it was actually a Sunday. I know that I forget what day is what when I am on vacation time.

...so brunch at Jeannie's on Sunday?...... :run:

People probably don't thank you enough for watching their dogs on vacation, but I know I put my dogs' lives in the hands of those who run boarding facilities, so....thank you.

Just yesterday I had someone call to thank us for taking care of their dog. The thank yous are few and far between but repeating customers are thank yous also.

It's true. I wouldn't go on a vacation at all if I didn't 100% trust the people watching them. We've minimized our need to board in recent years, as both my kids are still at home and in their 20's. One or the other is usually at home when I travel. But still: it's nice picking up a happy healthy dog if I must board them.

MY problem with boarding is I like to keep them together but Ben hogs all the water bowls. We have standing orders to have 2 or 3 in there, including a bucket for Ben! One place I boarded had kiddie pools in the runs, and were filled with fresh water 2x a day. I thought that was nice, for a Newfie at least!
