green beans question

everyone says to use frozen green beans when trying to take weight off a dog.
do you cook them? feed them frozen? thaw them out?

I used canned beans. I buy the ones with no salt.

I generally microwave a cup of them for about a minute. That thaws them out. But I'm sure there's likely others that would eat them frozen, too.

Mine like them frozen or thawed - they don't seem to care either way! When it's hot out, I'll throw a handful of frozen green beans in the wading pool in the back yard so they can bob for beans.

I use them frozen. My guys like the crunch. You can also just run them under some warm or hot water to defrost them a little.

Usually frozen but I have had Max on a strict diet and he can be fussy so I simmered them for a few minutes in fat free chicken broth.
He is now down 8 lbs and what a difference in his energy level...now we just need to maintain that weight!

Can't feed frozen due to stomach problems, but I do buy fresh when I can and chop them very finely. If no fresh is around I go with canned no salt or frozen that are thawed and chopped.

Beansicles here also. We supplement Caera's dinner with frozen beans in an attempt to satisfy her hunger without adding calories. We really have to keep her weight in check, especially since her hip surgery. Misha doesn't like them any which way at all. Good thing she's at a good weight.

I feed mine raw out of our garden or the ones we froze the year before, they are blanched but still frozen usually
