Last Tuesday I finally gave in and took Black in to have his teeth cleaned. He won't let me brush them and he isn't big on dental treats so he was having really bad buildup on a couple of teeth. They did a chest x-ray for his cough then too (see my other recent thread for more on that).
The other part of this was that they removed a small tumour from inside his eyelid, between the outer and inner lids. It looks like a blood blister but had more substance to it. We just got the pathology results and it's benign. :groovy::groovy::groovy: It's a hemangioma, probably caused by sunlight hitting the tissue between the lids because, like most Newfs, Black's outer lids droop a little. The pathologist said that it looks like the vet got it all out and Black is showing no ill effects from his trip to the vet.
I am so relieved!
