Believe it or not, I fit Sebastian into my little Scion xD..... barely
It is now only a 2 seater and yes, the headliner is covered in Newf fur!

We have a Pilot (fits both) and a Forester (fits one). Sold the Outback, which is technically bigger than the Forester but we had the exact problem you're having with the Audi - headroom.
