Hubby and I are having many conversations lately about footwear. Specifically has asks, "how many pairs of shoes do you need?" I don't think I go overboard, but do think it's important to have the right shoes for the right occasion like running, aerobics, snow shoveling, hiking, work, etc, etc. I think he has two pair of shoes :uhoh2:

So the question, How many pair of any type of footwear do you have in your closet?

runners,
workboots
sandals
snow boots

That's pretty much my 'everyday' stuff - otherwise: 2 pairs of dress shoes, 2 pairs of dress boots, one pair dress sandals.

I don't really count my 'wedding boots' - they're packed away with my wedding dress and don't get worn. Or my house slippers

Men can get away with much less shoes. My husbands work shoes he wears with suits can also be worn with jeans. My sparkly sandals that I can wear with a skirt looks silly with jeans. And then there's colors ... he wears black and brown ... I have read boots that won't go with everything, so I have to have brown boots and black boots too! lolol.

There was an amazing sale at an outdoor store in 2004, bought lots of hiking boots / shoes. Right after that Keen footwear came out. Had previously worn Nike Airs. Keens have toe guards, need that, no more broken toes!

Went nuts on Keens, so many awesome bright colors.

Then after getting Orka, slogging thru mud, puddles, dog parks etc became paramount.

Snow boots, kayaking shoes, running shoes, land roller inline skating boots, surprise needs fill lots of shoe racks.

Between the 2 of us, scores of shoes in the house. Well over 100.

Next research & purchase: skis and ski boots for skijoring with Orka.

And we don't have a single pair of "dress" shoes. It's all sports.

Lynn pioneered wearing Keens to work. There was pushback at first but the colors are so rad and gorgeous and she's so colorfully coordinated that now it's totally accepted.

Orka has shoes also. He needed paw pad protection from the sun and now he's training using custom booties to prevent snowballs and ice damage for when he skijors.

Hi, My name is Dawn, and I am a shoe-aholic. I would sell a kidney for a cute pair of shoes. I have everything from sneakers to heels ( which are catagorized into drinking and non-drinking ) and love them all.

Of course, I'm stuck in sneakers now but the walking cast is OFF!

I have well over 30 pairs of shoes, and I'm not even really into shoes! I know several woman with hundreds of shoes. I do carry shoes/sandals and boots in my store so of course I have to use my product, which means I get new shoes all the time. Grin.

I'm a pretty casual gal, so most of my footwear is too....

I have a lot of sandals, a lot. I love sandals. Leather sandals, casual sandals, water sandals, hiking sandals, sandals, sandals, sandals. It's too bad I live in Canada! I live in flip flops all summer. Tevas are my fave and dog help me I am picking up the Teva line for next summer! OMG, so many sandals to choose from!

I also have an embarrassing number of rubber boots, but in my defense I do live on a farm so I need them, in every possible height, really I do! I have plain boots, plaid boots, floral boots, ankle boots, knee high boots, rubber clogs, winterized rubber boots, etc. I woudl have more but a certain Wolfhound has a taste for rubber boots and has ruined SEVERAL pair.

I have moccasins, loafers, clogs, mules, flats, winter boots, hiking boots, running shoes, tennis shoes, amphibious shoes, etc.

I LOATHE high heel shoes, so I only have one pair and I never, ever wear them. Ever. Hate them. I actually got rid of all my other heels a few months ago since I simply will not wear them. I am on my feet all day at work, and when I'm home I'm hiking in the woods or in the barn. I have no use for heels.

I ONLY have about 20, and I wear almost all of them, at least seasonally. I have at least another 10 pairs on my "need" list though...
Including his different sports shoes (soccer, basketball, tennis, running, etc.) my husband actually probably has more shoes than I do.

I'm currently in shoe poverty mode and have only 11 pair of boots/shoes. I'm going shopping sometime this month and will be buying a couple of cute little dress heels:)

I've probably not had a hundred pairs of shoes in my entire life.
I currently have 5 pair. A pair of Crocs that I wear ALL the time, a pair of Clarks sandals, a pair of dressy ankle boots, my gym shoes and an old pair of gym shoes for yard work, dog walking, etc. Six pair if you count my house slippers!

My feet/ankles have been broken so many times that I just buy what doesn't hurt too much.

I'm not that into shoes. I have mostly atheletic shoes. I have 3 pair of running shoes, 2 pair of work shoes and a pair of snow boots I've had for about 20 years. I have a few pair of heels but I rarely wear them.

I have nearly 30 pair of cowboy boots, and then I have steel toed boots, dressy boots, heels, shoes that look like boots with jeans, tennis shoes, skateboarder shoes, converse, Roxy shoes...you name it. I am a shoe fiend.

I don't really like shoe shopping...and I have a bad back so I wear tennis shoes almost exclusively. Nonetheless, I still have at least 6 pairs! Riding boots, Keds, 2 pr Clarks, tennis shoes with no back, and tennis shoes with ties...and an extra pair of backless tennis shoes for the dog park, cuz they get wet...would love rubber boots.

Since I'm on my feet a lot doing tours, and since I broke my leg in 3 places several years ago, I do not wear heels. I have about 3 pairs of wedges. I also wear and have about 4 pairs of insulated, thick soled shoes from Lands End that have great arch supports for being in all sorts of weather, and a pair of dog Mucksters. I have 2 pair of snow boots - one is a cool red boot. I have one pair of tennis shoes to work out in. Oh, yes, and two pair of flat dress boots. Best of all, though, is I have 3 pairs of Crocs. I love Crocs and wear the around the clock at home. I also have a wonderful pair of Crocs flats that are comfortable and have support and look like soft brown suede.

I haven't really counted the number of pairs of footwear I own, but like Sandra, I live in the woods and need all sorts of rubber foot gear in all heights, too. I also am not one who is hard on shoes, so I have shoes that I owned in high school. They still fit and still are good to wear. I was planning to get rid of some of my more corporate shoes, but then nude color heels in all heights and toe shapes came in so why throw out shoes that are still perfectly good. My most recent purchase replacing a 20+ year old pair of rubber moccasins is a pair of red Hunter Boot clogs. Just perfect to slip on for the rainy day while you are running errands or taking the dog outside. And my shoe collection gets a lift when I find a pair of shoes for more than half price.

Then last February when I was in England, my favorite pair of flats for traveling gave out, just fell apart. I kept thinking that there was something on the bottom of my shoe. Yup, the shoe itself! So, I had to get another pair, a nice black brogue, while I was in Oxford. Not only are they nice shoes, but a nice remembrance from the adventure that day.

I am very hard on my shoes, always have been. I also cannot wear the same pair more than two days in a row. My feet just don't like it. I make sure they are fitted correctly, and I have a wide foot, so hard to fit. I only buy good quality because of this, but they are pricier. I wish I could go to Payless and buy shoes but they don't last for me. I love Zappos!

With hip and knee surgeries I don't wear very high heels any more but still have a few pairs. Lots of flats of various types. Never wear thongs, can't stand that thing between my toes. Water shoes, multiple walking/running things. Rubber boots too. But, I guess I'm frugal and always want to be prepared because I still have my snow boots from Watertown, NY in 1962. Hope to take them to VA soon.
