Still kicking myself for telling DH he could get a Lab or a Newf while I was in Germany! Should have told me to get a Newf! But she is cute, even if she thinks that 5AM everyday is time for fun and games and she is quite the yapper. Plus, DH is supposed to get up with her on the weekends, but doesn't hear her when she barks. It's just like when the kids were little and I heard every noise that they made. DH tells her that he is going to sell her to the Indians (not really!). Vandy and Maddie are getting along great and Maddie is putting the cheeky little thing in her place. But who could resist this face?

Got Daddy wrapped around her paw!

She is just adorable...........I am very partial to the lesser newfoundland (labrador). My friend breeds guide dogs for the blind and i adore her dogs. they are naughty puppies, but grow into such lovely dogs. ............Ronnie

Oh she's a cutie pie!!!

Yep...we have two Chocolates and a Golden as far as Retrievers go in our family (parents- Chocolate Lab, sister- Chocolate Lab, us- Golden) and let me tell you they were all hellions as puppies but have grown into very nice dogs...
It just takes two or three years!!!!
Retrievers are extremely smart and capable of learning just about everything. They are great dogs...but definitely different energy levels as puppies and even as adults.
It's great though...so embrace it and enjoy!
P.S. They are POWER CHEWERS so get lots and lots of things to chew...or they will destroy things they aren't supposed to! LOL!

She is so adorable! I can be an Indian if you want!

Men and not hearing animals and babies at 5 a.m. hmmmm. When I get out of bed to take care of these issues because he "didn't hear" them, then why is it that when I return, he has the pillow over his head, blocking out the noise???

Over the years we've had 7 blacks, 1 yellow, 1 Lab/Newf mix and 1 Golden. They were all wonderful dogs. Luckily for us ours were not chewers. My Paladin was the most amazing dog. He knew what his name implied. Enjoy her, I'm sure she will grow up to be terrific.

My girlfriend has a one year old yellow lab. I swear Bella is related to Marley. She is so out of control at times and other times,, well just a fabulous dog. That face would melt mountains. They are so cute as pups, enjoy her and hit DH over the head with a pillow next time! :!rolling:

What a beautiful puppy!! Look at that head! Gorgeous!

We had a yellow Lab who lived to be 17 yrs old...Carrie. She was the SWEETEST girl, but dumb as a bag of rocks. She wasn't destructive, ever. But had a mind of her own and training was a REAL challenge.

Jacques would take her out in the boat duck hunting, and when she got tired of it, she'd dive off....swim back to shore....and go to sleep under the car. :roflmao: He almost had a heart attack the first time she did it. He had NO idea where she went, since he was sitting out in the bay in a boat. When he got back...there she was!

Best of luck with your pup. Now we need pics of the two furkids together!

What a sweet face!! I have a yellow lab that just calmed down...she will be 13 next month! And I have a mentally challenged black lab that will be 11. They sure have a different energy level than the newfs and add a lot of energy to the household! Labs are one of the cutest pups though (right after newfs, that is:)).
