Yesterday, Sophie, a very laid back newf, went to the back door once in a while and would start barking. Assuming she wanted to go out, I would open the door, but she wasn't interested. After a while she would do it again, same routine, but wouldn't go out. This went on for a couple of hours. Then, as darkness fell, she stood by the door and really went crazy.
This time my husband went to the door and there was Checkers, our "indoor cat". She had gotten outside somehow and Soph, who doesn't give Checkers the time of day in the house, was trying to tell us.

very good! We let our indoor cats out when we are outside in our backyard and our Newf Molly will constantly "herd" them back to the door. Kind of like "you don't belong out here get in there!" They are great dogs!

Getting our kittens used to their walking harnesses, gradually. Have coyotes around so can't let the coons outside unless they're attached to us. Orka 2 nights ago did a ferocious watchdog concert against the coyotes, impressed the whole neighborhood. :D Unless I had seen it with my eyes, wouldn't have believed how protective a Newf can be for his kitties!

You are a VERY good girl.... last night our indoor cat Maggie got out too and was looking in the front window at us..... Thule was hoping she'd stay out!
