Bear's 2nd TPLO surgery!!! (Update with Video)

Bear had his 2nd TPLO surgery last Tuesday (the first one was in October on the other knee...which has done very well). We took him to Ohio State University to have the surgery done by Dr. Dyce.

All went well...except for much more swelling and bruising than the first surgery. The Vet said it was probably do to the fact that he was up and mobile more than the first time around (since the first knee was feeling so good).

He's going to be a tough boy to hold down this time around...wish me luck!

Here are a couple of pics...He seems very happy to be home! And sleepy from the 5.5 hour ride home.

Dear Bear,

I'm sorry you had to go through that a second time. Hope you will heal quickly and painlessly. Don't be too much of a crazy Newf and your mama won't have to worry.

Hugs!

Just finished recovering Emma, the trick is to go slow and steady. We are at the 22 week point and are starting water therapy next Saturday. Just try and keep the furkid as quiet as you can.

Awwwwwwww... He looks so sweet in the picture where he's looking into the camera and so darn worn out in the reclining shot. Bear, be a nice calm soul for your mom!:hugs:

Ginny and Carlina,
It's going to be difficult to keep him calm...but I'll do it even if it kills me ;)

He's such a trooper! 3 eye surgeries, a hernia surgery in his first year of life. Now 2 TPLO's in 12 weeks! And still, one of the sweetest boys I know!

It's more of a challenge keeping them calm with the second. "I've got one good knee, let's go"! Good luck on the rehab -Brian

Here is a video of Bear, 12 days post TPLO surgery. Whatcha think? And yes, I know he walks weird....but it's NOT because of the surgeries... He just wasn't "made" correctly. As the surgeon said, "You don't have a show dog". Uh.... DUH!:lol::lol::lol:http://www.newf.net/Smilies/lol.gif
