My SOOOOOOO Sweet Girlie Girl Lacy Lae! Lacy is 7 1/2 yrs old and has lived a hard life. She has been HOME for just under two months. Last night I took her to the AHS to see if I could get her CGC, I was SURE she could do it. Well, I failed #4, poor girl was staying on a loose lead and trying to stay next to me, she just couldn't figure out which way I was going to turn. I didn't know which way I was going to turn. And I failed #5, I was trying to avoid people walking through the crowd and lost Lacy again. Next time, I'll let 'the crowd' avoid us. But SHE passed the other 8 tasks with flying colors! I think 8 out of 10 for a first try, considering her past, is pretty darn dog good! Once I have more practice, I'm sure Lacy can get her CGC next time around.

:heart:Dang I Love this Dog:heart:

Keep up the good work.. You'll get em' next time.

The hardest part for us was leaving the little dog they brought for the approaching another dog. You KNOW how hard it is for a newf to "ignore" a lil' dog. :)

Yea for Lacey. Come on Mom, just a little more practice. Then get an article in the newspaper about how much you can do with rescue dogs and how wonderful they are with love and training. Great opportunity.

Way to go Lacy! :groovy: I think that's very impressive for being home such a short time. Do Peanut and Daisy have their CGCs? How often does the AHS run the test? What does it cost? I'm scared to try with River. Maybe we could meet there when you go to try again!

Jackie,

Golden Valley AHS, I believe it's the 2nd Mon of every month. They have a trng schedule on their website. Costs $10. Daisy has failed MISERABLEY TWICE! She's an ESS, what else can I say:crazy::devil:

I havn't even bothered trying with my shy boy Peanut.

It was a fun time and actually only 3 of the 8 dogs that tested passed. There were some that failed that were just 'friggin' comical.

The owners kept looking at the ground shaking their heads and saying, "What the....":banghead:
