What should I take to a draft seminar?

I don't have equipment yet. They are letting me borrow some.

Obviously I need lots of training treats and our regular leashes. I'll take a water bowl. I'll have the bell I wear when Kilrain and I are working outside to make it easier for him to track me.

What else might I need? Should I take the long leads?

Thanks. Since it's our first time working draft I don't want to forget something that's obvious to everyone else

Hey Sharon.....If they're letting you borrow harness and cart, you need little else! Treats, normal leads..not long leads, treats, the collar you use for your normal training, treats, water, and treats.

Thanks Sheila! We have three classes this week, Advanced manners, nose work and the draft clinic. I think I better stock up on lots of treats or try that hot dog recipe someone posted yesterday :)

It was a great day. The Swissie people (thats how they describe themselves) from the C&O Swiss club could not have been more welcoming. Friendly, extremely knowledgeable, and very skilled at drafting. Kilrain and Katala got kicked out of the beginner class and moved to the intermediate class. The newf temperament really works with the carting. We did a lot of different exercises and at the end of the day ran a mock draft trial. The hardest part was the off cart obedience. At one point you have to get the dog to run next to you, Katala got really excited by the running and ran right over to all the folks waiting to go next in order to get hugs and pets. She is a social girl. Everyone was very supportive of drafting with a dog with blindness (and surprised how hard it is to tell he's blind). One of the surprises was one of the swiss folks knew all of the different draft testing standards, newf included. Will post pictures when we get them.
