Water Bottle Crunchers

I make em for the kids sometimes....I sew the bottles up inside a tube sock with some bright colored thread I can see and pull out easily when I need to change the bottle.....And if I happen to find some wooly/fuzzy socks on sale.. hey, it's a party!
They are pretty cute, though.

I haven't seen them here yet, but I have to try the sock idea. Thule is nuts for bottles but she always chews the top (the screw top part), takes her about 2 minutes to do the job and it's really scary to look at - looks dangerous! The sock idea is worth a try though.

I've looked at 'em before, just never actually bought one. My dogs have 4 big garbage bags full of toys right now. They rarely destroy a toy and I keep buying new ones, so I've been trying to limit the new toy buying!
You can get those and other brands at cleanrun.com as well.

The only thing about the socks is if you tend to wear the same type of sports sock DON'T use that kind of sock.. go out a buy a sock that looks very different of a different material or colour or texture or thickness, because it may lead to the checking of all the socks in the house for one with a bottle in it.

LOL! This sounds like the voice of experience.
These do look like they'd be really easy to sew one together ... I may try it. We'll see.

For years, Hugo routinely performed squeakectomies on his stuffies. I used to toss the "intestines" and replace them with a plastic bottle sewed in. He loved 'em!

Of course, Miss Piper frowns on having her "babies" guts ripped out, so Hugo treats them tenderly now. He's allowed to play with the "kids", but not so rough. He still loves his water bottles though.

Oh yeah, if you have excess toys in good shape and can't help buying more (like me), wash and donate them to rescue. It's a great way to rotate those toys that the puppers get tired of.

Coop had a similar toy... except with a poofier tail and plain body... he LOVED it. Georgia turned me on to these. Coop did eventually ruin the opening where the bottle went in, but it took a while. I've got to get him another one.

My DIL just asked me what to get for her Lab/Terrier mix to chew on that he couldn't totally destroy in 60 seconds. DIL says her "little monster" is getting tired of plain old Kongs. This might do the trick.

We bought one for Elvis. The outer covering (that green snake) didn't last long AT ALL! He ripped a leg off almost right away, but he did enjoy the "crunching"!

Well, she thought she had her fortune at first, until she realized she wasn't going to be able to chew the top off; she dropped in in favour of her rawhide stick. Sigh! Loves to chew, this one!

I'm all in favor of saving money on toys! Lord knows Pae and Sydney have sure gone through theie share.
I gave each one their own bottle in a sock last night. Syd gingerly crunched and chewed on his for quite a while. He seemed to really love the sound.
My Little Freak Show, Pae, (term of endearment) destroyed hers in under 10 minutes. She loved it sooooo much that when I saw she had reached bottle and was still chewing like a rabbid canine, I went and made her a second one. That one lasted about as long as the first.
All in all, I love the idea and so did the Newfs. I will definitely do it again. THANKS
