Wanting for blower

My outside grooming table is not that big but Tiika always wants to be 1st. As soon as the dryer is turned on after our walk she's up on the table waiting. This morning Splash went up 1st but Tiika wasn't happy with that so she climbed up, too. Both of them waiting to be blown in 11Degree F temps which were way colder than that with the wind chill! Tiika is the one with the red boots. Splash is her littermate sister.

I love it! Anytime we use the blower on Elvis he immediately flops down in "walrus pose". Elbows out, head on the ground, and sighs so loud like he just can not believe we're doing this again.

Tiika & Splash are gorgeous! snow lovers.

Do you have an outside electrical outlet you use? Which dryer do you use, and what do you put it on in the snow?

We had our garage outer side wired for 20 amp for the K9III. It's on the driveway floor if the weather is good and I'm blowing but in the garage if it's raining -- pointing out about 3 feet to the picnic table where Orka is standing. I do extend the hose part out in the rain then dry with paper towel.

How do you do it? You must get cold!

Great to see 2 Newfs who love blowing, especially in that temp!

Love it! They are both so gorgeous. How long did it take for your Newfs to start liking or at least tolerating the blower. I pull ours out and Emma runs for the hills! Lol..

To answer your questions, Leska, here's a videoclip from this morning. It was actually done before our walk so it's a dummy blow. Usually I go over each of them much more thoroughly but it's just a demo! It shows where I keep my blower. It's been in the same place for the last 5 years - outside 365 days per years and pretty much used that many days /year, too! If it's raining or snowing I just lean out of the door under the overhang and blow Tiika off before she comes in - sometimes 3-4x/day! The still photo is of Splash having her snow bath before we start on our walk. My friend and Tiika are behind her. The deck is normally 3-4 feet off the ground but we have a lot of snow! The huge mound on the deck in front of the patio doors is where snow falls off our aluminum roof! We don't get cold at all! We're hot by the end of our walks! but you can see that we're really dressed for it!

Their breeder introduced them to the dryer before we even picked them up at 12 weeks. So they've never been afraid of it. In fact they love it!

Joan that is very helpful, thx for the video and picture! That is one hardy dryer to handle being outside so much in your weather. Makes me realize I do not need to baby mine as much. Will be re-arranging garage -- you've given me really good ideas, thank you so much for sharing.

Nice to see the poles. Caninordicwalk Orka with joring gear, love it. If we had that kind of snow at the house would be skijoring all the time! Boy your Newfs look happy Joan. You have it all figured out, so cool. Thx!
