The order of things

In what order does everyone do their "full groom" grooming? ie. Brush first then bathe? Then dry, (rebrush? comb?) then cut? Any groomers tips? My usual method is:

Bathe when I have time/feel like i can handle it/things are getting REALLY stinky. Brush fairly regularly until I get behind and she starts to get dead chunks and mats, chop off her pants, then take her to a groomer feeling embarrassed and let them do the work. Repeat.

I line comb to get out the undercoat before bathing, sometimes use the Mars Coat King to thin it all out. Use the blow dryer to get rid of dander and anything else that clings to the coat.
I do not bath them that often actually and they don't smell.
Evan has a very thick coat so I use the thinning shears a lot on him.
They have never been to a groomer.

Wow...I wish I could not go to a groomer...Jake is good at standing still but Belle is just a terror...she likes to be brushed but that is it...Jake is so funny, when he hears my blow dryer, he comes bounding in the bathroom and lowers his head so he can be dried...too cute!

I always keep them combed out, since if there are any tangles or mats, they will only get worse when they get wet. I do big trimming before bathing. Then I bathe, blow dry, then refine the trim.
